Hey guys, I'm getting my V2 soon but came across a known issue with the Canadian models of the V2. Apparently we don't have the light switch on the right side because of regulations. I've been doing some research and this has been an issue on previous model Ducati's and the simple solution has been to find a "Euro Switch", plug it in and then you can turn off your low beam when you want. Does anyone know if this is an option for the Canadian Panigale V2's?

If it’s like my V4, the button is there but not active. I switched mine on, but I have a Ducati service tool to do it. Some dealers will do it, but mine wouldn’t.

Yeah I was hoping for the same but I confirmed that the V2's actually don't even have the button. The Canadian models just got rid of it altogether.

I'm basically hoping that I can buy the switch from a US dealer and plug it in but I want to confirm that someone has actually done it or if it'll actually work before I pay for it.

Unfortunately, there's no work around for it yet. Unlike the v4, it can not be turned on with by the Ducati service tool possibly cuz there's no physical button according to my dealer. No solution found yet...

I was thinking what if we purchase the switch that has the button on it? It would be easy to get from any US dealer I'm sure. My only concern is will it be plug and play?

I think I found it here: 2020 Ducati Panigale V2 Parts Diagram Ducati Omaha
Page# 137 Pos#15
Code: 650102738
Description: Right Switch
I wonder if we would have to order that from an American dealer? I am tempted to try it if it's not too expensive to try. Maybe I'll talk to my mechanic first.

Yup this is the part number I came across 65010273B . I spoke to a friend of mine in the US who said he can get it for me when I get my bike. I'm going to give it a shot but I think my bike is still about a month out from delivery. From what I understand it'll only cost $200 CAD to try which isn't bad at all. Please let me know if your mechanic provides any insight on whether it'll work or not.

I wonder if you have the wiring already there to support the button. You'll have to pop it open and see how many wires you have and their colors. I can probably pop mine open and see what the US version has inside.

Yeah unfortunately I don't have mine yet or I'd take a look at the plug but maybe larryzard might be able to take a look in the mean time. I've tried to look for some sort of wiring diagram for these bikes but haven't had any luck. It'd be awesome if you could take a look at what your right switch plugs into and if you could get us some pictures though. That would give me something to refer to once I get my bike and take a look.

I have yet to speak to my mechanic. Probably won't get the chance to for a week or two.
I would assume the wiring plugging into the right hand controls would be universal and only the stock right hand control unit is different (missing a button).

If it's just the right hand control unit issue, then there's also this option for it:

I'll update as soon as I find out.

Yup I saw these too, preferably I'd like to keep things looking as OEM as possible but worst case scenario I wouldn't mind using one of those.

There are two parts for the right hand switch. Part#65010273B and Part#65010283B

I just spoke with my mechanic. Part#65010283B is the one without the light switch. Part#65010273B is the one with the light switch. He was saying that it would probably also require a relay on top of activating it via computer. Part#650102873B is available to order in Canada. He told me that it's around $170 for the part and possibly 2 hours of labour as they have not tried to do anything like this on the V2 and could not guarantee that the ECU might show a permanent error code. He said that it's up to me to decide if I want to give it a gamble as he can not guarantee that it would work 100%.

I'm going to sit on it for a week. Will cost almost $500 cad to try this out. I might have to wait until July as I had ordered some parts already this month.

Wow that's pretty steep, more than I was hoping for. For some reason I thought we may get lucky and it would just work with the other switch. I'm willing to try it out when the time comes but that won't be until another month unfortunately.

I cracked open the switch that has the DRL button on my 2021 V2. I found eight wires. Two go to the DRL button, four go to the starter switch, and two go to the hazard switch.

  • DRL - red, orange
  • Starter - green, white/black, black, blue
  • Hazard - black/red, yellow

Hope this helps you determine if your V2 has the wiring needed to connect to the DRL button. I tested the DRL button and found that it is a momentary PBNO.

Oh wow, thank you. Do you have a picture of what the connector/plug looks like for the switch? Or is that tucked behind the fairings and stuff?

Sorry, I reinstalled my tank some time ago and did not trace this connection.

I'm also interested to know if this would work out! I've been wanting to do the same thing and order the switch as well. Let me know how it goes!!
