So what to do? I really want to do the key guard and intake covers in gloss and I finally decided on the shift tech carbon to find out they don't offer the intake covers. On this forum shift tech assured me it was in the works and would be 2 to 3 weeks so I am on a waiting list. Problem is $$$ is burning a hole in my pocket and I'm getting antsy. Suggestions?

Well oh well, my first thought was that I should just stay out of it but then I feel sorry for the poor guy that may go for it.

I still will bite my tongue but I suggest to talk to somebody that actually has fitted these and can tell you first hand experience. Our Chinese friends are getting better when it comes to looks and finish but there is still a major step when it get's to be a highly complicated part that needs to line up with 3 other sections of the bike..................

I can give you 3 other links of intake covers that are available but don't fit at all and confirm so with first hand experience.

MUNDMAN it won't be much longer, awaiting aluminum inserts and then they are done, should be all ready to go in apx. 10-14 days.

Ok shifty in hanging on. I know there is a lot of crap out there but there are some pretty high price stuff as well. I assume they are better quality but higher priced. I saw your streetfighter here in ABQ and it was awesome. So I'm still waiting for what I believe is the best product/ value. Shift Tech.

Hey Shifty, how do I order and get my 10% and free shipping? Maybe ill order something small to hold me over.

MUNDMAN Glad you like the Streetfighter, it was one of the bikes I liked the most and I hear it's in very good hands down there.

The intake covers for the Panigale are by far the hardest pieces to get done right out of all parts for any Ducati model within the last few years, They are a serious task but it will be mastered , I can ensure you that once they are done they are done right. They are not just a simple copy of the OEM version, they are designed and fitted little by little directly on a bike to ensure all is correct.

Does Shift tech have any plans to do the inner side fairing in CF gloss. That's my next project.

ShiftTechCarbon,

Question, I damaged the lower side fairings (both left and right) on my Pani S. If I got the low gloss/non gloss carbon replacements through ShiftTech, would the appearance be a direct match for the color/weave/finish of the factory carbon front mudguard?

Thanks...

(the pricing is competitive with factory replacements so why not get carbon instead)

The match would be pretty close, it's never a 100% perfect match but it's as good as it gets.
We have sold more then once a set to Ducati dealers so that must mean something:)

I paid the price for not waiting for the Ducati original or Shift-Tech Air Ducts and went for another supplier. Simply put, I got burned $400. I am kicking myself as I expected as much - all promises, yet such a poor fit. CF is hard to do well, hence the premium price. In the end, I'll pay the for a level of quality only befitting a Ducati Panigale.

Mundman, let me know when you've fitted the Shift-Tech parts as I'll also take advantage of the 10% if the quality and fit are PERFECT! I have purchased the Reservoir Supports from S-T and they were sweet, so am expecting S-T to get it perfect!

If you can also post a how-to-do-it on the forum that would be appreciated. The stock plastic are easy to fit as they are flexible, but CF is stiff as a board.

i would like to see the ones that dont fit so i can make future informed decisions.

When i do consider buying carbon. Ill buy it from ShiftTech. No matter the price.

Because the guy thats making the product has an 1199. Not only that his input and comments are spread throughout this forum which shows hes going to have good quality based on his commitment to knowledge on the bike itself.
