I want to pick up a few carbon bits but don't want to pay DP prices, but I don't want black dyed fiberglass being passed off as CF. I'm interested in matte finish to match OEM. My biggest worry are the areas subject to high heat. What brands have you used, what's good and what should I avoid?

Fullsix are excellent and they will do it in twill also and in matte, gloss or raw.

Blast From The Past !

.And I bet in Gloss To:D

No worries glad you liked the vid, these guy's are doing the carbon for my bike in twill, matte and raw, but not the heavy weave twill as in the vid.

How have you been my old friend? Long time no see / hear Wally?

You know me too well Id have to say. After seeing these links Im sure you will recall them and why I posted them WAY back in our first days here! IMHO- as Wallaroo states, Glossy CF is the only type I use, and again IMHO the Matte (Stock/OEM) DP material looks simply like cheap plastic to me. :eek (And now onto my VERY old Threads about the great CF!)

Yes, the Matte / Satin finish came out on top of the Poll I know. LoL. :)
And lastly, the work of art created by my great Ducati Master Painter from Connecticut Cycle Refinishing (CCR) This was actually one of the Stock Front Fenders which came w the bike in Matte Finish too!

Sorry for the long msg folks. Its just difficult to get all my CF passion in one post -especially when it comes to beautiful Glossy Carbon Fiber too!

Hahaha....I am good my old friend, that was of no choice of my own I can tell you, but I am back !!

So did this thread bring you out of hiding with the faintest whiff of carbon fibre. ? :D

Now THAT is a funny question about the Carbon Fiber- and matter of fact YES!

I wanted this new member Domino to get the TRUE scoop on CF and where to go, whom to look at and who to trust with it all - Glossy or Matte it doesnt matter mate!

Love to hear about things with you so please send me a PM whenever possible ok?
In turn I will also fill you in about myself and the things happening in my world too! ;)

I don't blame you there. Their prices are some of the silliest ....... things I have ever seen.

I went looking around at some DP carbon stuff and when I saw their prices, it makes me want to punch the DP people in the ..... I want to ask them "WTF are you thinking, where do you get off charging that much for that when you know you don't even have $12 in it".

They charge anywhere between 30%-100% for the EXACT same .... as other companies do, simply because it has a "Ducati" sticker on it somewhere. Get the .... out of here with that .....

We all know there is an "exotic premium" added to pretty much everything with these bikes, I just get aggravated by it sometimes. If somebody wants a custom made swingarm or some ...., yeah I get that. But to charge so much for for oil changes, fenders, tire swaps, spark plugs, etc....... that doesn't cost them anymore or take them any longer than it does for Jap bikes...that pisses me off.
