Had my bike hang up and die on me today...

Series of events are as follows;

-Let the bike idle until it no longer reads "LOW"
-stop & go through 4 stop signs without issue
-open it up to about 5-6k revs, shift to second (not quick shift) and hear a solid pop upon shift
-bike stutters in second, goes limp briefly, to which i respond with a blip in throttle which doesn't respond.
-blip again with the clutch pulled in, revs go WAY beyond my throttle input (6-7k)
-release clutch lever, bike stutters again.
-come to stop light in first, idle falls to 500-600 revs
-falls flat on its face
-crank, no starting
-push onto sidewalk out of the way, no starting...
-input throttle with cranking (thinking its a hard start now) nothing
wait about 30 seconds, bike starts up runs normally, no issues thereafter....

For anyone who read through my play-by-play, im just curious if this is cause for concern, or am i officially a panigale owner:eek:. From what ive gathered, these bikes are mechanically sound but are a bit of an electronics nightmare. Im suspecting based on the popping before limping and killing that this was a fuel issue of some type? it has 91oct in it. im the second owner of this bike, ive put about 400 miles on it since i bought it with no issues whatsoever. its a 12' 1199s and has 9800~ miles.

As always, any insight is really appreciated.

My 13 has almost 5000 miles and did this exact thing few days ago. Would not respond to throttle and then eventually does respond and catch you offguard with the power. On startup mine sounded different and lower idle revs but no popping. Approaching a light always felt like it would stall and it actually did twice. My ride was only 15 minutes to my destination and not many stops. End of my shift, went to start it and everything was fine. It did throw a check engine light but it disappeared after a few seconds on its own during warm-up. Ended up makin an appointment with the dealer to have them check it out n pull the code since it's under warranty but it isn't until May 6th. Haven't had any kinda concerning issues since my early days over 3yrs ago so I'm not sure and definitely curious about it too.

Strange. Mine did not throw a check engine light as far as I can remember. the bike is still under warranty but im hoping this is just a one time thing considering the nearest certified tech is 3 hours away..

Well this might be hard to believe but i responded to you, closed my laptop and went out to warm thr bike up and it did everything yours did. Threw a couple engine codes, which cleared themselves but idle was all over the place. And the bike hardly wanted to move under its own power. I had to input a lot of throttle to get her rolling at all.

My dealer was gracious enough to answer my call on his day off. This is potentially a fouled plug. Ill be giving the tech a ring on tuesday to see what my options are and if thats the issue i may do it myself. If i had to guess youre experiencing the same thing. Anyway, ill let you know what i learn tuesday.

It's what i suspected initially but since mine is under warranty, figured I'd let the dealer handle it. Hopefully it's just that simple fix.

had the bike die on me for no reason once, found out there was a bulletin regarding wiring harness, dealer replaced it, never a problem since

usual suspects,

battery terminals, grounds ...
take it from there.

but by the severity of it, i'd recommend a dealer visit.
