CBE Thermostat Housing Replacement

Did you leave the CBE thermostat or remove it and install the bypass when you installed the H2o? I have been running the water/oil H2o for sometime now no fan no issues temps never get above 200. If you need to get a replacement I would recommend having Gio make you a all water its just as efficient and less parts to have to deal with.

Wanted to post an update on my experience with the CBE thermostat housing. It didn't work well for me. On track it averaged about 20 degree higher coolant temps than the stock thermostat. In June it hit 265 as I rolled into the pits and I said enough is enough. I threw on an H20 radiator and am happy to report it runs a nice cool 188 to 190 on track and barely cracked 200 as it was going up on the stands.

Yes, I took out the CBE bypass, Samco hoses, stock radiator, and stock oil cooler and put in everything from the H20 Evo kit: H2O Performance EVO Oversize Radiator and Oil Cooler kit - Ducati Panigale V4R / V4 / S / Speciale - ART115EVO

The bypass in the SBU kit photos is very different than what I actually got in the kit. The bypass I received is a one-piece silicone hose y-pipe that runs from the outlets on the heads all the way to the connection on the upper pipe. This is unfortunately the only pic I snapped.

Sounds good so yes sometimes the SBU guys do some weird stuff over there. Always best to ask Gio over at Galletto when it comes to getting the latest version. I always tell him how I want the radiator stuff configured that way it comes how you want it. The 99 version has an aluminum bypass so with the V4 having more complications that is why they just used silicone instead.

Does the h2o radiator fit a 2018 v4s I was thinking about upgrading but not sure if it’s wider for the r.

I have a 2018 V4S with 2018 race bodywork from MotoXP Ricambi. It is definitely a tight fit, but the bodywork does go on.

As Mick said, you could check with Gio at H20/Galleto if you're worried about fit.

I haven't had any cooling issues with my CBE housing, even after removing the fans on my V4 with the stock radiator. It obviously gets hot slowly at idle, but cools off quickly when moving. With my medium sized shop fan blowing on it, it doesn't really get beyond 4 bars ever.

It did take absolutely forever to get the air out of the cooling system though. I'm not sure if there's something about the housing or whatever that makes it more willing to trap air, but it took burping and topping off 4-5 times before all the air was out.

Do you have an aftermarket dash to read the coolant temps?

Close, I'm using an Aim Solo 2 DL lap timer plugged into the diagnostic port. It can log the following channels directly from the bike:

  • CHANNEL NAME FUNCTION
  • RPM RPM
  • Gear Engaged gear
  • Speed Rear Rear wheel speed
  • Speed Front Front wheel speed
  • Lon Acc Longitudinal acceleration
  • Lat Acc Lateral acceleration
  • Roll Rate Roll rate

The v4 has brake pressure sensors from the factory?
