Had a brilliant dyno day today it couldn’t have gone any better
Bike is running sweet afr and pulling hp like a train..👍🙋🏻‍♂️🕺🏻

So my original.question remains. If retaining the O2 sensors as in the case of the full Akra system and supplied map improves idle stability, what does the T800 upmap offer if it does away with them?
Can you answer this question DeussenEngines, I am keen to understand why.

The T800 maps have O2 sensor diagnostics disabled. I understand their approach to remove the sensors to allow the engine to run richer in part load where normally the O2 sensors work. In Reality even with O2 control active in part load the engine really does not run lean because of the secondary air system injecting air into the exhaust offsetting the richness. So in my eyes there is not real benefit from removing the sensors completely on a road bike. On a race bike I often remove the sensors for multiple reasons. One of them being that the secondary air system is often also removed.

Awesome!

Remind us - what’s the current combination of tuning acronyms flashed to your bike?

So six months on and several track days I stuck with the Woolich and a competent Dyno operator. Once warm the bike is superb and more power than you can shake a stick at! I say once warm as there does seem to be this anomaly with woolich and the cold start (read initial startup)
On other threads Deussen has eloquently explained about the processes that are going on around cat quick warm up, ie fast idle, weak mixture, retarded ignition....this does cause a lot of popping banging poor/no throttle response....I have learnt to live with it by as soon as it begins to deviate I switch it off, leave it a moment and go again...until after a couple of these its fine for the rest of the time... It is clear to me Woolich haven't quite got a hold of this. Ive tried it with O2 connected / disconnected, richer AFR for lower revs on the fuel table. I read Daniel says he has identified this and can turn it off for a proper smoother idea from the get go...

I was recently on track at Brno with a couple of other 22/23 v4 base bikes one with big exhaust tuned by a reputable uk guy, the other std tune same big exhaust, both these also did the cold start hunting banging coughing etc etc....rectified by the same process as I do.

Im now at a point where im looking at other options, Daniels tune is one. I also see in the T800 they now do a map for full exhaust, for track use and takes into account Evo 3.

My bike, with a custom tune, also does this starting procedure the first time you start it in the morning. Next time on that day it starts and go.

First start, poor idle, banging popping, no throttle until it lights the second temperature square.

Then it rides great.

Kind of a problem, as I start the bike at 8 am, and try to go a few blocks away to warm it up, but bike won’t accelerate

Weird I have woolich with the O2 sensors (and ex valve) turned off and an Arrow half system and it idles perfectly.

What's the usual ambient temp when you start the bike? Mine starts fine atm, but in the winter/spring/autumn, I get the fast warmup start.

2021 SF. If I start to ride right after the oil hits the heads (like a minute or 2) it'll hunt a little on light throttle (it doesn't see much throttle till the oil's warm). Couple of minutes all gone. I've ridden it at 40 F. No problem. That being said I've leaned down the low rpm partial throttle fuel mapping a bit.

Does the upmap need to be purchased in order to access track evo, evo 3 mode? Does it need to be purchased from the dealer or purchased outside of the dealership?

I had the evo 3 added at a dealer without any other dealer based mapping associated with their exhaust purchase. I also had the 22-23 software upgrade done at the same time. The Evo 3 upgrade is done at a dealer and can be installed into an otherwise standard bike. If your bike had anything other than std software in there (woolich, up map, Bren etc) it will overwrite it. You can of course reload your tune again afterwards.
