Check Engine Light when leaned over

Had a sporadic Check Engine Light (CEL) pop up on my dash during a track day last weekend. Seemed to only come on when exiting a particular fast corner, leaned over and with at least 1/2+ open throttle. It remained on as long as I had the throttle open and while up shifting down the straight, but as soon as I closed the throttle the light went off and remained off.

I couldn't replicate it on the back straight at wide open throttle and switching thru the gears. It only seemed to come on exiting a corner at full lean. And as soon as I would close the throttle the CEL went off.

Any idea's what it could be signaling?

Bike is a 2015 899. I did just install a BlipBox Pro and a PCV (power commander) and had it dyno tuned by Attack Performance. Bike ran fine on the dyno with no CEL.

My 14 does not have a IMU so no experience but there are many threads on here with guys having similar issues and iirc the problem was almost always IMU mounting (angle or vibrations) that was causing the issue

Does your 15 have one and if so what are you using for a stay?

Doesn't look like the IMU was provided on the 899 or 959 models. Just recently implemented for the first time on the V2. Thanks for the reply tho.

Your welcome. My bad. Thought they were on the 15-16 1299 and R etc.

If ya ask my yer better off without it

Can’t tell ya how glad I am that my 14 does not have one : )

Good luck finding yer gremlin

Sorry, when I said V2 I meant the lower models, 899/959/V2. 1299's had the IMU.

Update on my CEL issue; I was able to get the bike hooked up to a diagnostic reader (shout out to LUX MOTO for the free reading) and there are 3 codes showing. Two are related to the exhaust valve removal (P1006 & P1007), and the other is P0201.

P0201: Horizontal Cylinder Injector (short circuit to power supply or short circuit to ground or open circuit).

Going to remove the tank this weekend and check all the connections at the throttle body. But in the meantime, anyone else come across this error code? and any thoughts on a remedy?

Check your harness for chafing, rubbed through wire contacting engine case or any metal surface will give you codes like that.
