So as I was getting ready for the race weekend, I took my bike around the block. It shortly showed me an engine error light but by the time I went down the block it went off. Pulled it in the garage. Restarted the bike no engine light.

The following morning as I load up I turn it on and the light is on again. Bike runs fine, no issues that I can see or hear. I did change the rear sets and that little sensor that sticks into the oem rear brake set is now zip tied out of the way. I had it like that at races a month ago and had no issues... any thought? Maybe it's now recognizing that the sensor is exposed???

Thanks y'all

only real way to find out is to use the scan tool and check the codes. It's only $25 in parts and the software is free, no reason to not have it in the tool box.

Only $25? Any chance you have a link to that?

I had an issue with the quickshifter which was seeing a small amount of
pretension and thus waiting for the full shift.
All I got was engine light, no limp home mode etc, which would clear after ign off.
Took the shop a year to find as it left no codes for them to trace.

Well, went out in practice with engine light on... first lap as I was moving through gears it started sputtering as if it didn't want me to shift. Pull in to hot pit, sir for a sec light goes off and stays off. Rode 4-5 laps with no issues. After I come in, boom it's on again. Figured it's the QS as that's really the only thing I messed with recently, took it apart put back together and momentarily no engine light... I'm at a total loss. Thanks for all the input!

If you got a light then there is probably a code stored in the ecu. Get the reader and the software. It will tell you exactly what is wrong. I had an issue with the engine light coming on during WOT for like 1 second. I got the software, cleared the code (injector fault) and rode it again. I finally was able to narrow it down to the rapidbike module. I reset the module and went for. A ride. Problem solved. Melcodiag great tool.

Yep, that's the consensus. Because I have no clue what it is. Went through and checked all the connections etc. quick-shifter works just fine. So it must be some gremlin. I have stock ecu with the termi up map, nothing fancy
