Clutch - air in the system

I had this problem with a RSVR factory and the Pani. I usually just put a rag over the top (master cylinder) bleed nipple, pull in lever and hold, crack the bleed nipple, re-tighten nipple, job done in under a minute, just be careful you trap all escaping fluid in the rag As air bubbles rise I don't bother with the slave bleed nipple unless doing a complete fluid change....

-- thats the exact routine that i've been doing for years..simple easy solution, until they find the true cause/fix

So...do I have air in the clutch system or clutch in my air system? Do I bleed the clutch or air out?

I may have found a solution to this problem.

I have replaced the standard clutch reservoir SUPPORT BRACKET, with a carbon fibre one from Shift-tech. This has stopped the agitating effect of road and engine vibration aerating the clutch fluid. I did also put a Ducati black reservoir sock on as well and now when riding, the reservoir does not move around at all.

The clutch has lasted for 2600kms / 4 riding days without issues. (The guys I ride with thought I was secretly bleeding the clutch every night during a recent 4 day long weekend ride)

So essentially just stop the reservoir from shaking like crazy and the problem should go away!

UPDATE: Had a chance to check the clutch today, by bleeding the system with some new clear hose and was disappointed to see a few little bubbles in the mix! Whilst I did still have plenty of clutch from my previous 4 days riding, after bleeding the system today, the clutch felt much better. This may also be the Motul RBF600 fluid used to flush the Master / Slave cylinders.

Anyway, I still believe the NON-SHAKING reservoir performs significantly better than previously. The next test will be 10 days riding around Tasmania. If the clutch makes it around the island without bubbles, the solution will be valid!

It's an old issue, but after 15 years with Ducatis I've never had one where this issue is as frequent as on the Panigale. My '95 SS hasn't had a clutch issue in over 10 years....since I installed an aftermarket slave.

Something's amiss in the slave design, here.

-- I'm not from Missouri (the show me state).....but after trying a different master cyl, a different slave (2 of them) and all the other voodoo style fixes, I'm simply not convinced until I see it :)

-- have you replaced the salve on the panigale ? (Problem solved?)
