Hello there
I am writing this post to document my recent issue with Ducati Panigale 959 (2017) with 30K km on board.
While doing an oil change, I discovered two metal fragments attached to the drain plug . (pictures attached)
From looking at those two fragments, I figured out those are the starting points of two different reinforced springs.
After digging into the service manual, I finally discovered the possible place for those fragments is the clutch basket (PRIMARY DRIVEN GEAR COMP 19820431B).
Spend a few hours on a clutch teardown, and YES, two damper springs from the primary driven gear (19820431B) were broken (vide attached).
I got fortunate, and those two metal fragments didn't break anything else.
On the internet, I could not find anything about this issue besides a service bulletin/recall for a similar problem for Panigale 1199 Superleggera.
Did someone else have a similar problem?
Is this a common failure on Panigales?
What is the root cause of this issue?
Thank you, I much appreciate your feedback
