Does anyone ever have fitment issue when replacing Ducati's dry clutch basket with STM one?
My bike is 2021 V4S with Ducati's dry clutch kit (it should be parts 96080031AA).
10k km later, I had clutch slippage and was informed by my mechanic that I need clutch pack and basket replacement.
Indeed, the clutch stack is lower than nominal, and the basket ribs have "grooves"
I didnt get Ducati's OEM replacement set, as the price is quoted is really high.
After looking around, I found that STM pack and basket set ADU-0015, seems to be the replacement 48-tooth set. So I ordered that.
I got it installed, rode ~200km and found out later (due to other unrelated visit to the mech) some metal shavings from the clutch area.
Turn out that the new STM basket (red alum) isnt exacly the same shape and dimension as the original basket (white alum).
As the result, the new basket now is now "machined" around the base, and similarly with the "bowl" part where the basket resides is scratched.
So now my mech puts back the original worn out basket, as I figure out which parts to order.
Looking at most website, ADU-0015 is sold as the replacement part with proper bike model fitment.
Only one website
STM Replacement 48 tooth Clutch Plates and Basket for STM Slipper Clutch, shows a warning that the baskets are not interchangeable.
So my question to those V4R owners or V4 with dry clutch, where do you get your replacement dry clutch basket from?
I have seen on image seach some V4 engine with red-coloured STM clutch basket, so I believe there are ppl out there with the same replacement part as mine..
