Everyday the groups are revisited and a new sticker provided.. plus a briefing sticker ..
What he tried to tell you is many stickers = you re slow as you've been downgraded

The most I’ve done is an indicated 275kph (just over 170mph), in 5th on the main straight at Most (not sure how long that straight is, but I don’t think it’s all that long). There were plenty of RPM left befy6th would have been needed. I assume you are not using standard gearing.
Show me that the geo is fecked. Andy and Paul and Pantibadboy talk a big game but when it comes time to show how hot .... they are they'll dodge it any way they can
None of us are trackday heros
Why are you so far off line? Shouldn't you be hugging the right curb, Andalvaro?

Don’t know what your point is?
It’s 180 mph in sixth gear at around 11500 rpm…so a bit of rpm to go ..
I’m sure your advise is invaluable…
Not mine. Simon Crafar. Might want to check out some videos of pros lapping Mugello. Everyone is over to that right side. But you do you. Just me returning the favor of invaluable nonsensical advice. Except I'm actually providing at least some modicum of evidence.
But more importantly, how fast do you lap Mugello with your fancy bike, Motospec software, and extensive "practical experience?" I'd imagine you'd only be off by 4-5 secs --7 tops-- from the WSBK boys. Anything more would be a waste. You'd think if you'd be running times that close you'd want to let the forum know. And I'd give you props for it because that's legit.
You were posting to show that you used 6th gear and I wondered what gearing you were using. I was saying I was just under 10mph less and I’d only just got into 5th, so it seemed odd. I guess you had just got into 6th. It’s rarely needed at most circuits unless you’re super-fast.
The reason this doesn’t make sense is because there is clearly a lack of understanding around gearing. There is no point in having gears in the box if you are not using them . This is why you would change the only easy bit you can the final drive to-get the best set up for you at the track you are at,
In this instance having never been to mugello before I knew there was a long straight but also that there was a longer joined up flowing section for the back of the track , my plan was not to complicate learning the track with numerous gear changes around the back but have 3rd gear in a sweet spot to run up and down there s in and out of the linked up bends
A bonus was I almost got to max revs in 6th at the braking point at the end of the straight too.
Watch the professionals with a lot more technology to work a track out they just get to tge rev limiter in top gear at the braking point…. That of course may mean they run through the limiter at certain points of the track… but it is always a considered compromise.
I seem to recall Rick choosing gearing to avoid using first gear, so he certainly had a gear in the box that he didn’t want to use.
I didn’t have a misunderstanding about gearing - I am aware of the reasons for changing gearing to suit the track.
I asked because I believe the original point about not topping 6th gear anywhere was assuming standard gearing. I would guess a lot of us just use standard gearing for track days. Getting into different gearing choices to use all the gears is a different topic.
Anyway, let’s not go around in circles.
Yeah it’s that good a process all the top racers do it… 6 speed gearbox but only use 5

My is org gearing, ( with EVO 3, speedo showing speed also after 299) I think V4R speedo is littlebit optimistic..
My dash, aim solo 2 dl and the speed trap were all very comparable….
