clutch cover. what did you get?

BlueBear,

Sure, I will give up some time to help out to provide you with advice and upload some pictures.

My criteria was protection around the clutch that was in additional to wheel sliders. I wanted SOLID protection for that area and wanted to retain the Ducati theme.

I wanted to keep the Magnesium cover exposed and supplement it with rock solid frame sliders (outer) along with decent frame slider suspension rather than go for either a partial protection or full case cover and no frame sliders. It is a quality solution and I am happy with it.

Trust this helps.

Re: clutch/gen covers

I have the DP units installed on my S but that Woodcraft one looks yummy!

Went with the Rizoma.

I don't want any CF on my bike and didn't want to cover that nice gold paint.

If the bike just falls over on pavement or concrete the guard will keep the cover damage free.

It falls and slides on gravel you're screwed.

I don't really see how this offers much in the way of protection at all???

I'll do a full install report when I have a moment, but my thoughts are: It's tough, but on a frameless bike with no real ability to add strong crash protection I'd have liked to see a cover that stuck out farther.

Has anyone seen the ones by T-Rex and what do you think about it. It looks pretty cool and you also get the Front and rear axle sliders with them as a whole set.

T-Rex, TRex, T Rex sliders

I am looking at the trex sliders, they look good in the pictures.
2012 and on TRex Ducati 1199 Panigale Frame Slide

What are your thoughts on the T-Rex (T Rex, TRex) engine/case sliders?

Looks to me like these are the least likely to rip the engine/bolts apart. All the anchor points of the Sato Racing sliders without the "stalk" that always bends when you slide and catch anything on the pavement. You guys agree?

T-Rex said they laid a Panigale down on cloth to test their sliders and the fairings never touched!

One of T-Rex's customers went down with the slider on (along with axle sliders) and the fairing never touched either. Just had to replace the scuffed T-rex slider and his bar ends.

Just what I've been searching for: case/engine sliders that protect the engine AND the fairings. Seems like T-Rex might be the answer.

Best of both worlds?

Cover (s)

Did two on mine here.
Love to hear feedback from anyone who purchased the Ducabike "Oil-Quarium" and see some more videos of it too!

Yup. I've been looking at clutch covers/sliders/etc. and think that Woodcraft (for me) is the way to go.

Basically a replacement clutch cover rather than an add-on clutch case protector.

They make good stuff. Used them for all sorts of stuff back when I was racing.

On the GB racing ones has anyone had any issues with the bolt heads fouling the fairing in any way

Reason I ask is I originally purchased an R&G one and one of the bolt heads was fouling the fairing edge causing paint to flake so I sent it back and after much debate got them to admit that theirs did touch the fairing. Refund later I am looking for an alternative - GB racing seems to be the one to go for over in UK but dont want to order and get into a debate on whether something is 100% right or not?

i have GB generator cover it looks very plastic. very hard, looks nice even tho plastic, cheap, will save your Engine, design is great. bolt goes in fine with pre installed washer in the plates already.

i recommended them. i have no problems with them

got a gb racing, doesn't look cheap at all, used by wsbk teams.. hehe:)

I went with the DP CF case covers and love the looks. Hopefully they would provide some protection in a crash. I do like the the Woodcraft also.

woodcraft or gb for real track protection. t-rex is ugly as hell in real life, don't bother. sato looks so hot, but not sure if it'll work in a low side. high side and you're totalled no mater what.

Yup, saw your bike at Ducati Access Plus... nice GB racing covers.

What I did with mine was...I'm using two kinds...I have the R&G case cover on the right and DP carbon protector on the left. But I had to cut the R&G case covers in half (similar to the DP CF covers) to accommodate my SATO Racing sliders due to the fact that... the billet brackets attaches to the clutch cover screws...

So, with this set-up, The R&G case covers will save the OEM cases from damage (cracks) and scratches...while the SATO racing engine sliders will protect my fairing and its internals like radiator, computer box, battery etc too...

Love your rear lightech rearsets and your black OZ forged magnesium wheels...hmmm.. Since my bike is an "S" and already comes with the Forged wheels...honestly, I like your wheels better....like checa's WSBK!!! wana swap wheels?

Regards,
Miguel
