Tried searching but to no avail. My 1199 now has 4500km and the last 500km has had issues with changing gears. The clutch lever is still normal to pull in, it just that the gears are harder to select and finding neutral has become a a real issue.

Feels like what would have been a stretched clutch cable needing adjustment, any ideas would be appreciated.

Does the clutch engage early when you release the clutch lever? That's a pretty good indication you've got some air in the line.
Try bleeding it at the master cylinder. Had similar issue on mine - clutch was progressively engaging earlier and earlier in the lever throw. Finally around 2500 mi mark I bled the master and got a lot of bubbles. Since then it's been fine (now at 8k miles).
I know sooner or later it will need it again. I'll replace the slave cylinder with Oberon or something similar. Aside from a 750ss I had, I've yet to own a Duc that didn't have (at some point) issues with the slave.

Found the post on the bleeding process.

It is 43 degrees here today so i guess i will have to wait for it to cool down before assessing the difference.

Thanks

mate had the same problem at about 5000k and just bled the clutch system, pulled the slave off and gave it a clean and polish inside and all good. to be honest i think just the bleed fixes it. using motul 600

Thanks for advice, worked a treat.

Seemed a pretty easy fix, is it worth upgrading; does the upgrade mean that you don't have to bleed the system any more.

Up to you. I bleed hydraulics on my bikes every month or so anyways,. It's 5 minutes with a MityVac and a couple of bucks for the fluid.
My 1199's clutch needed bleeding around 1500 mi mark when it got soft and had to pull almost to the clipon to get the clutch to disengage. Haven't had a problem since. But, as I said, I replace fluid every month or so which would tend to preclude air/moisture being a problem.
