I want to put a plug out there for Jake Zemke! We had him out at our TrackAddix track weekend last weekend working with some lucky students who signed up to do instructions sessions with him. He worked with 8 students over the course of the weekend, in 3-hour blocks of time, with each rider getting 3 lead-follow sessions on the track and discussion in the pits. Of the 8 riders, there was not one who didn't think it was worth double the price they paid!
His last student was an old dog who shouldn't be learning any new tricks (aka Me) yet I dropped almost 2 seconds off my lap times on a track that I have thousands of laps around. His approach to the track is very different than what I'm used to, and he was able to show me how to alter my approach to most corners to take better advantage of the capabilities of my bike. He also helped with some tweaks to my body position. The end results was just from 2 sessions out on the track, I was going faster than I had gone at that track in over 5 years, with way less effort! I've been through a lot of training and racing schools over the years, but nothing compared to how effective this one-on-one training was. Jake is one smart cookie, he's not fast just because he has natural talent (which he does), but he knows exactly HOW he goes fast and can convey that to other people in terms they can understand. That's GOLD right there!
If you're in California you can hit up the Zemke Riding Development sessions at some of the track days he's at (I know Chuckwalla for sure, and some others), or you can book him for one-on-one coaching on track anywhere, or trackside at races, or whatever. Whatever you pay, it will be worth double that, I guaurantee! If you want to get in touch with him to book some training, pm me and I can get you his contact info.
