Just in case anyone here is a fan of Comp. Werkes fender eliminators (like me) I just got a reply back from them that they will be releasing their fender eliminator for the 1199 at the end of the month during USGP Laguna Seca.

I don't know about all bikes, but I bought theirs for my Triumph Daytona and it integrated the turn signals into the rear light and tucked the license plate way underneath. I'm hoping for something similar with the 1199. We shall see!

The email I received:

"Had a few hangups on this one.
We plan on releasing it at the USGP Laguna Seca end of the month.
Shawn"

Good info, it should be kick ... if they have been in the "releasing it next week" mode for the last two months! Hope you can use some different signals on it that are still plug and play with stock connections. Man I hate spicing this and that together!

I wonder if they will have their infamous "way up under the tail" over the rear wheel kit on this bike? Either way it should be cool. After mounting the DP one with Euro turn signals I am NOT about to ever take that thing off again, ever! lol

Did your DP kit come with the 3mm screws? Mine didn't.

.... I dont know? Screws for what? The ones that go up under the rear cowl? No idea what you would be referring to and what difference they would make. I know that thing was a ..... to get mounted though! All those tiny snaps and .... that come off each side when you move to other side! errrrrrrrr

None of the kits at the dealer had the 3mm screws which hold the carbon cover to the fender (Parts 6A and 6B). Had to go to Ace to buy some.

Not sure if this news has been posted elsewhere...

Anyway, I'm at the Laguna round right now and they have their 1199 here fitted with some of their soon to be released equipment (including an exhaust, I believe). I was in a rush so I couldn't look over everything but I did grab this pic of their kit.

As you can see, they've fitted some slender turn signals into the brake light housing. I asked how these were fitted and the rep said that they created tabs to connect with the bodywork, ie no double sided tape. I also asked if they plan on anodizing the bracket black, and he said "most likely". Finally, I was told that it should be available after another week.

I'll be back at the track today, so I'll see if I can get more pics.

Cheers!

nice, thanks! enjoy laguna! aaaand more pics please!

Err. Not a fan of that look at all. Especially the bright gold piece they said they d make black. Have to admit I love my DP tidy with those front euro signals more each day, especially now!

Love how the plate sits and location, but not a fan of the signals.

Thanks for the pic. Makes me glad I didn't wait on this as I'm not a fan of the look. Especially the signals.

The screws he is talking about are the M3 size bolts you need to hold on the small piece of carbon which covers the licence plate LED lights. No one that I have seen on this forum has ever received those bolts in their DP tail tidy kit including me. I had to get mine from Jaycar. Xbox kindly gave me the sizes in a PM. So Gunny if you got them you were one of the lucky few. And you are correct it is a bit of a job to do. Luckily we get the Euro signals standard on our bikes (Australia) so no expense to buy new ones.

from ducati.ms / shift-tech :

i bet they will have to release their own heat shield as well...

Wtf?

After closer examination of that bike I am wondering what exhaust is on that thing? Was this mentioned already? That is not the Ti Ducati slip on.

***YEP- looks like Phil addressed the issue already by mentioning heat shield. Sorry Phil.

Based off your explanation I would say that YES I got the correct bolts with my kit. I was there when the tech opened the box and during the entire mouting, and he didnt need to replace anything. So I guess I am lucky then?

Wow the heat shield for the exhaust shrunk by 75%, i wonder if anyone tested those on road.

It looks like they kept the stock headers/pipes. The exhaust valve is still in place and there isn't that much clearance between the fairing and the pipes with the Termi headers.

And, I give that plate a couple hundred miles before it's dripping onto the hugger.
