How in the world are we supposed to read the coolant level in the reservoir tank? The white cutout is so opaque that I see nothing as I fill it. I have gone through the routine twice to the spilling out the top of the tank point, and never could see anything even using a flashlight and the "shaking the bike trick". Do I need to remove the upper fairing and shine a light down into the opening to get the light shining through from the back of the sight window? What a major PITA, and all around terrible design!! Thanks in advance for the assistance and advice.

I have found two options that work. One, leave the upper fairing on, but snake a flexible stalk LED light down into the reservoir. Then turn out all the lights in the garage and look up under the wheel and you should be able to see the level if you jiggle the bike back and forth a bit. Second, you can insert a zip tie or some other flexible stick into the reservoir and use it as a dipstick to gauge the level.

Thanks Capt CF for the info. Two good options. Do you know where to find an inexpensive flex LED light that would fit? Thanks again.

The shake test in medium lighting works but you have to have good vision and color recognition. You can see so slightly the fluid line in that opaque window. Shaking the bike confirms you are not imagining things as you can see the line move. Generally, the below the coolant line is darker shade than the air space, but its deceiving because the freaking opaque window itself has several different shades depending on the thickness of the molded plastic. Good luck. You can also pay the dealer $55 for a check and top off. Guessing on the price because its probably more.
