Corbin seat

Yes, they did change the 1199 cover to the same material as the 899 on the '14's, but kept the same padding and shape as the original. I usually run the stock one for shorter days since I like the thinner profile, but if I'm doing a full day out or a longer trip and am going to be doing much time on the highway I put the 899 seat on for comfort. Goldilocks zone is in the middle somewhere, so I expect I'll end up yanking the cover off the 899 seat and doing a bit of reshaping to my preference; there's enough padding to work with and still have a bit more than the stocker.

If someone has a second unused seat they'd like to part with let me know.

No one is chiming in on the race seat? I thought that was the better option out there?

I think AntiHero did a side by side comparison of the race seat vs. comfort seat. from what I gathered, they are nearly the same but the race seat has less cushion...can anyone shed some light on whether my understanding is correct?
Thanks in advance

As ugly as the Corbin passenger seat is, I bet I works, and you can take it of when not using. I made one that looked a lot like that because when my Pani was still a street bike, the slippery very slopped passenger seat had my girl sliding into my seat, pushing my jewels into the tank every time it used the brakes. Worse seating of any bike I've ever owned. My 1198 had the same passenger problem, but my riders seat was big enough that she could fit when she slid down :) 100lb girls rock!

I have had both..To me..where it matters...they are identical..The comfort seat is prettier though..:p

Ask Phil (or rather his wife). He's the only one I know that regularly has his wife ride 2 up on the Pani. I think he's using the stock passenger seat.

After considering all of my options, I ended up buying a used seat on eBay for $55 and started trying to figure out the process of shaping a seat...needless to say, I wont quit my day job. I started my search for marine grade fabrics at the local fabric store per advice from my girlfriend--there wasn't a whole lot to choose from, but I picked up a couple different ruminants and she decided I could probably use some foam for the seat(sometimes you have to pick your battles and I'm glad she tries to help). After looking through everything and starting to shape the existing seat and building up the front while dishing out the rear of the seat pan I decided it would probably be beneficial to take a trip to an upholstery shop. I went the J&J upholstery here in Columbus, Ohio and they provided me with a wealth of information from shaping techniques to different grippy fabric they had in stock and also stuff that they could order. I picked up some fabric from them called grippz and a block of high density foam and headed back to the garage. I finished the seat yesterday and installed it last night as we were putting the bike back together after the cartridge install. I used an angle grinder with a flap disc for the majority of the shaping--if you plan on going this route, watch your fingers! I also used an abrasive disc on a Drexel tool for the fine tuning. I wouldn't say that I am 100% happy with the end result, I can still feel some minor imperfections when I run my hand across the seat from the abrasive discs, but I think it'll be a night and day difference from the stock seat. It's supposed to rain for the next two days here in Columbus and then be in the 60's on Sunday and Monday...the forks were finished last night, now to swap out the rear shock, flush and fill the cooling system, and an oil change and we'll be ready to ride! Thanks to everyone for their input and opinions, I appreciate all of them very much.

Thanks, I plan on riding with the seat like it is for now and see how I like it and probably do it again this summer sometime.

No paint for the Pani...I like it white!

I had the option for a red or white one when I went to the dealership, I was coming off of a Streetfighter S in the matte titanium grey with tons of carbon upgrades and hints of red and that bike looked great, but I have never been a fan of red bikes. Might do a decal kit for my business and see if the tax man will let me write off some advertisement expenses--but if not, I'm sticking with the white! If money wasn't an issue I would probably opt out of the white and go with carbon fiber--but I'd rather spend my money on the carbon fiber wheels next year
BTW-your bike is sexy claymore, I dig it
