Anyone using this setup?

I did the install last night but could only do a test ride in the parking lot, 1st to 2nd. There’s an audible click after the shift is complete and it doesn’t feel/sound right at all.

My shifter is setup GP style (race shift) and I get 2 blinks on the LED, I’m assuming that’s the way it should be.

To be honest, the cordona sales did mention that they had trouble when they tried it on the DP rear sets but didn’t explain details. I thought I’d give it a try anyway.

Verify the linkage length adjustment. As far as I know, optimal geometry is 90 degree angles in the linkage. Varying too much can cause some wonky stuff to happen.

I forgot to mention that I tried making a few shifts on the bike stand after that short stint just so i can get a visual on what's actually happening. The bike threw every imaginable error code at me so I shut it off. Cordona module stopped working, LED wouldn't blink. Checked the instructions again and the last point mentions that the module resets its self (if it malfunctions) after 2 minutes of shut off.

You figure it out?

Nope... I just got a chance to go for another test ride. Module does in fact reset and everything is on point.

Not really the topic of the thread. If you install the sensor controller in the place shown in the image, it will surely fail sooner or later.

Some people have had issues with the sensor and it being damaged by the heat that builds in that area. I'm not sure how empirical the data regarding it being located in different spots and failing is. I placed mine in the Cordona recommended location without any issues in California heat.

It does inhibit the ability to install the gear position sensor air conduit recall if your bike is one of the ones affected by that.

I’m running the unit on Streetfighter so I don’t the think the conduit applies. Test today was done in 100 degree plus weather but was keeping revs under 6-7k... bike has done less than 50 miles

Your gp shift lowered the rear rod end by what looks like over 3”

That changed the angle at the front

At the beginning of the pull you want the cl of the front rod end to pull thru the cl of the shift shaft (dunno what the Italians call it that’s what I call it). The splined shaft sticking outta yer trans door

Yours doesn’t even look close

I have read a thread that reports the sensor controller melting but that looked to have been installed near the sump of the engine. In terms of the controller getting more air flow, I can’t imagine a better place for it to be considering the wire length.

By pulling through I assume you mean the linkage from the splined shaft pulls through a 90 degree angle with the shift rod.

You were reading about the gear position sensor. Cordona units melting is significantly more rare, but has happened. Being on the streetfighter, it is very unlikely. Last I heard of it happening was on V4s with the 18-19 fairing style. Seems like there's better airflow with the new fairing style. No fairings makes it extremely unlikely.

Yeah yours looks way behind

Prolly great for downshifting : )

Haha [emoji23] It was in the same position with the factory shift rod. The dealer did mess around with the shifter position after installing the rear sets.

I’ll have to order a new shift rod because I had to cut this one to make it work. I guess the 160mm rod cordona supplied for the DP sets is the correct length after all [emoji2357] Thanks for pointing that out.
