pedrosa and marquez are going to be tough. i am a big marquez fan i think he has an amazing amount of talent and pedrosa was a crash away from possibly winning last year. they have to be the team to beat.

i hope spies can bring something to ducati . anyway enjoy the video

Watch Dani Pedrosa & Marc Marquez Lap at Sepang

I'll pull for anybody that isn't Lorenzo. I could live with Dani coming out on top this year, but would love to see Dovi, Spies, Marquez or Rossi pull it out. Let's hope we can actually watch it in the states instead of this streaming crap... :)

Dani's one of my favourites, too, no matter what brand he rides. Marquez seems to be the ...., though.

marquez is 19 and doesnt give a .... about anything. thats why he is my favorite racer since stoner left. he was aggressive and dominant in moto 2 last year hopefully he will do the same this year.

CAPT my moto is ABR = anybody but rossi. i actually didnt root for him when he was on the ducati.

really pulling for spies.

Please Mark49NY, a little respect for Rossi... Nobody in the field can say they won 9 World Champion titels...

Its true, Stoner was the best ON Ducati, but he left, couldn't deal with the stress of being the best...

And Rossi have still so much hunger, on last test in Sepang he had the most laps of al the moto gp racers...

Huge Ducati and Rossi fan

give rossi respect will never happen. Product of the best machines and teams money can buy. Only give respect for what he has done for the sport in terms of marketing.

Simple question its your team you own ducati right now or any other bike team for that matter you can have your pick stoner or rossi who you take?
if you say rossi just stay with your 46 pajamas and keep drinking the cool aid. if i have to start backing my position i sure will.
until then enjoy this

Anyone who knows the history of Rossi in MotoGP knows this is more or less a load of crap. Rossi started dominating on Honda, and everyone said it was the bike not the rider. He purposely moved to Yamaha, which was struggling at the time, to prove it was him and not the machine, which he did immediately and without a doubt.

That being said, no matter how good a rider is, they can't win on a bike that's not improving as well. Rossi knows how to develop a bike and that's what he did at Yamaha. He left Ducati because they couldn't work with him.

You can point to Stoner's single success on Ducati all u want, but you'll always have Rossi's 9 GP champsionships (7 in the premier class alone) slapping you in the face. You don't get that simply by having the best bike. Put any one of us on the best bike and we'll be lucky to beat a CRT bike.

marquez should

get in there pritty quick.. last year he was astouding especially in the last laps where he rode like Jorge clock work when all the rest were all over the place.. he's done things last year that only Senna has done..

Looking at the fight he put up last year, it would be great to see him win...
in regards to last year. He did get close but Jorge had peace of mind and had something left up his sleeve i think .. he did not have to go all the way.. although his miralous save in the rain was dam close...

as to ducati... don't see it happen... not hits year.. this year wsbk is the place where they could shine.. not GP..

Actually, it's been said (I think even by Burgess) that the Yamaha wasn't far off the Honda at the time in terms of development and setup, so his feat wasn't miraculous. Still impressive though, no doubt.

Marquez is impressive and actually has had a very similar path to MotoGP as Rossi did all those years ago. However, I wonder if Rossi's admiration will continue after Marquez bumps and bashes him off the circuit (much in the same way he did to other competitors over the years). Marquez doesn't give a F which is what you need to be fast but he'll need to settle down at some point and be more calculating, otherwise he's going to be taking everyone out.

Is anyone really serious thinking poor ol' Ben can really do something on the Ducati? Ben is brilliant, he just needs the right package for him that suits his style with people surrounding him that are supportive. I'm hoping Suzuki pick him up when they return.

Lorenzo gets his championships handed to him. Rossi gets injured with a compound fracture (out of contention but still beats him when he returns one race). FF to Indy this last year, I watch Stoner .... up his ankle on turn 14 (which btw was the corner that knocked out Nicky too)...translation, Lorenzos championship to loose, which he almost did to the unluckiest motogp racer I've personally seen, Pedrosa. Ok rant about Lorenzo over lol.

Although I will miss watching Stoner just like I miss Simoncelli, I am really excited to see Marc Marquez! I really loved watching moto2 because of him. I think that class will kind of be boring without Bradl and Marquez now. Im actually more drawn to moto3, those young kids racing crazy. I think Marquez will be the next Rossi, its a bold prediction but I see Marc getting quite a few wins this year! As for the ducati's, not a chance. Im all in for Checa tho in WSBK, assuming he dosent crash! Anyway, Ill be watching at Austin, Leguna and maybe ride to Indy although it is quite boring compared to Leguna...

Forgot to add: Rossi WILL be in contention to win the GP, I suspect 5 wins and a few more podiums!!! GO ROSSI!!!

Ok here are some tidbits that all you people worshiping at the alter of Rossi should now and never ever get talked about because he is and did so much for moto gp (ill give him that much)
Lets break this down. First the 7 titles (Premier class). Rossi 7 titles were due to many factors. best equipment, team, money and for 3 of those titles lack of competition before stoner and lorenzo burst onto the scene.
When bayliss, biaggi and checa where at yamaha, yamaha basically said f you to their requests. when rossi got there they DOUBLED THE STAFF to accomodate him. He got all changes he wanted when all the other riders were told too bad (language adjusted for post) The satellite teams all shared knowledge with the factory teams as well

If rossi is so great of a rider he would have had at least several podiums on the ducati . after two year even with a crap bike he should have done much better. All he did was cry. The Very Same Bike stoner pummeled the competition on.

If the bike was so bad nicky never would have regularly beaten rossi. Its actually embarrassing for what many in this world allege is the best rider to not even be able to adapt his riding to a different bike. The best can and do this all the time. A world class rider adapts riding style to suit the bike.

Lets talk competition and rules for a moment. How many years was rossi allowed to cleanly pass (where other riders wold deliberately pull off the race line watch the races objectivly) and let rossi go by then get back on the race line and fight the next guy? How about being able to pass stoner under yellow flag at Philip Island. how about no punishment for dangerous riding or for passing stoner in the dirt at laguna. finally how about the time he deliberately punted sete off the track. nothing was done ever about any of this.

Stoner has been in the chase 1/4 the amount of time of rossi and out of the 2 riders Stoner is the guy (at the time he did it the only guy) to win at every single track in the moto gp circuit.

Finally rossi had many great riders help before him with the devlopent of the bikes he rode. Yamaha stated that their bike was not far off from the honda. checa bayliss biaggi edwards and sete all help develop the bike rossi road. he reaped the benefits of other great riders before him.

i could go on but i have work to do comment as you see fit lol

Well put together.

I guess as life saying goes..."being at the right place at the right time" is what Rossi seem to benefited from. I can't blame him for reaping the fame. I am interested to see how he will do this year. I guess he can prove himself or validate your comment above. Stoner is for sure one of the best rider. I would love to see him ride the Ducati again to see what he can do to prove he is better than Rossi. :D

Mark, why dont you like Rossi? Just cause you dont think hes the best rider? I've actually been able to get a lot of autographs from a lot these guys and Rossi loves his fans and is a great guy! Same goes with Crutchlow, Marco when he was alive. Most of the other guys dont seem to care about us...BTW they all look like oversized midgets lol...except Rossi/Speis

great question. its not the fact that i dont like rossi and yes i believe EVERY ATHLETE LOVES THEIR FANS (nor have i ever met the guy i am sure he is a great person who wouldnt be making all that cash doing what you love).
I actually do like him he brings a lot to the table, however, his fans are like drones (robot sounds) mmmmmm rossi is the best, mmmmmm rossi can do no wrong, mmmmm nobody is better no matter what facts say, mmmmm i just bought a 46 helmet jacket etc....
I started out liking the guy and i still think he is a great rider but he is not the best rider out there. IMO he isnt even the best rider on his own team.
There are people who do more with much less. You cant take his championships away but you cant take Scottie Pipen's away either. Is that to say Pipen was the best forward around because he has 6 rings or was he a product of Michael Jordan. If Jordan wasnt there would Pipen be as good? Same as Rossi is a product of a great team with lots of money in the right place at the right time. Is he the best rider NO WAY but he did do the best under the circumstances he was given.

Good point. I could prob take him if I could just get my throttle control and SRs ironed out. :)

Second i know this will never happen but if it were to happen be honest. Every rider on the same exact bike do you honestly believe Rossi would win? would it be stoner? Maybe pedrosa or lorenzo? could the kid marquez win? we are all entitled to our opinion and that is what is great about sports the debate goes on forever. ali or frazier? russell or chamberlin? jordan or magic? kobe or lebron? you get my point.
