I sent an email to DB Race to ask them about visibility cause the mirror stems look quite a bit shorter than the OEMs. They are always very quick to response. Here’s their reply...
“In Italy we call this type of mirror "short arm" because the rear view is guaranteed between the body and the inside of the rider's arm.
The setting of the original bike does not allow the rear view from the outside because, as you say, you can see the shoulders. You'll just have to get used to the first few kilometres to look behind by slightly widening your elbow outwards but you'll see that after a while it's a natural movement.”
I will be interesting to get your feedback. I’m 6.3 and 200lbs so not sure these will work for me. I just don’t think I’m going to get enough of a viewpoint between my torso in my arms. I’ve tried to simulate the movement they describe and I’m pretty sure my torso will block about 85% of the image.
