@thorny since you're obviously a much better and serious racer than I am, can you please send me one of your V4.dda files in which you also activated DWC and DTC of your V4S during track practice/ racing?

I will convert it for you and send the result back to you in a format you can import this V4.txt as telemetry data into e.g. RaceRender together with your corresponding track-movie.

This way you can create a similar Telemetry overlay of V4.dda data on top of your GoPro movie as @Burls121 did for his 1199 and I did for V4?
I can even share with you my RR gauge setup template, so you only need to import your V4.txt and corresponding GoPro.mp4, sync their timeline and nJoy the result even quicker.

If you share the result we can show Bologna and all V4 enthousiasts the real potential of DDA!

Some friends and I started a new CONCEPT STORE, in Misano.
It doesn't deserve to be called business, because is a place of passion and experiences, where we share our dreams and good time.

It is called GARAGE 51 and is located exactly inside turn 15 in Misano World Circuit.

I will try to share my data as soon as I get back on board my V4

Hi guys,

Such a long thread for some that should have been more simple. Quite insightful reading experiences, disadvantages, etc. though.

Just acquired a DDA+ kit and cannot find any documentation for installation? Especially - which connector are suppose to be used in the front for GPS module?

I have the 96676510BB version and wondering if it will fit the 959 at all?

Does anyone have the installation diagram or (any) documentation?

I compared a VBox Sport 20Hz GPS (only) logger tracking simultaneously next to PV4s its DDA+. Since I was wondering how accurate the (only) 10Hz GNSS antenna of DDA was.
Conclusion: If both are properly initialized with enough satellite locks and clear view to the sky while racing, their recorded track-logs compared almost 1:1.

Refer to my previous posts here to understand ‘how’ I converted and integrated DDA data to telemetry info in trackday video.

Mine DDA compared to gopro gps 18hz and phone gps it is 8%off
Phone and camera have the same measurements

If I remember correct, the DDA shows the speed from the wheel sensors and not the GPS speed

That's interesting.

Although, when I ran with DDA, the peak speed on the lap times on the dash, was from GPS.

When I check the data with the usb the GPS data shows deviation of 8%.
Which doesn't makes sense.
On top of that the motorcycle has 2 speed sensors front and rear. Bmw s1000rr speedometer was losing maybe 1% vs gps

Yeah, my V4s both are out approx 5-8% vs GPS.

On my twin 'R when I did use DDA it was pulling speed from the wheel sensors (same as dash) and not GPS, same 5-8% (faster) reading as mentioned above compared to my AIM Solo 2DL. It was one of the main reasons (the other being the file format) for not investing in the DDA on my V4.

Yeah, at least with the LAP EVO the laptimer on the dash gets the speed from the GPS. Can't remember where I read about the DDA getting the speed from the wheel sensors though...
The speedometer speed is +5% from what the wheel sensors actually read, but it doesn't make much sense that the DDA records the increased speed and not the actual data from the sensors or the GPS...
Weirdly enough, my bike doesn't delete the saved coordinates when I leave the track, the finish and inter. symbol disappear when I'm far away, but shows up again when I get close to the track.

Was this issue related to decrypting something proprietary?

Obviously it’s frustrating to read that there is a solution to getting the DDA data exported to use in an overlay but it isn’t going to be shared.

Your post was a couple of years ago - has anything changed in this regard?

Indeed and no change as far as I’m aware of. Bologna doesn’t seem to want DDA exported data in 3rd party telemetry tools for analysis, not even as overlay on GoPro.mp4 like I do. Imho sad and sorry but fact.
DHQ obviously lacks proper understanding a/o priority of the commercial potential ‘unlocking’ this function via their supplied DDA Analyzer software. Sorry, can’t go into more details.

If we -as ignored minority- collectively start begging/demanding this export/overlay function from Bologna to finally add it as part of their DDA+ package, like I tried too many times fruitlessly, DHQ might reconsider? In my case DDA dept didn’t even bother to answer my numerous requests for this, I only got general BS replies from their ‘Customer Care’ agents and gave up… after initial years(!) trying and achieving the same with help.

Just ordered a DDA, I am fed up gadgets hanging around the bike. I have a Garmin Virb for camera, and there you get the speed and track layout as overlays so it is ok for me. What I want is an accurate laptimer, will I get that with the DDA?, got worried about the above posts with using the wheel sensor and not a GPS speed? My main focus is laptimes, actual speeds is not that critical, but can be nice to compare lap to lap more then the actual speed.

In my experience yes on a lap2lap basis, compared to both my 20Hz Vbox Sport and myLaps DC transponder all within a few tenth logging similar lap-times.
