regarding dealing with insurance:

google "how to deal with insurance adjusters" you will find some helpful info.

i ended up getting an attorney. got out of an accident with a totalled Tuono (bought for 4k) with ~13 grand.

just an fyi . i have the receipts to every single after market part i changed on the bike. i have state farm also and from my understanding if you can prove you had it on the bike it will be insured. (may be a little fight).

here is my question that i still dont have an answer to and i dont mean to hijack this post (sorry kevin maybe you know the answer)

I know a timed track day is not covered and if you are actually racing it is not covered unless you have specific track insurance.

What about the track day where you just riding on the track for fun. no times no race just a curvy paved road with other motorcycles. what is the rule on that anybody know
?

I have state farm and discussed the issue with them, they informed me that track days are covered as long as it is neither timed nor competitive. Which makes sense to common coverage as riding is generally covered, racing is not. You can always check with your company.

I just went down recently on the Pani and 12k estimated in damage by adjuster .... they didnt total the bike.... cheaper to fix for them than replace. take the money and CUSTOMIZE in my opinion !

So here's an update, the adjuster went to look at the bike at the dealer yesterday and said he thought the bike would be repaired, he said this to. My friend at the dealer the adjuster never talked to me. Then this morning the total loss department called me and said the bike is a total loss and that they have a professional adjuster team that will value the bike with parts on it and that my aftermarket probably won't add any value to the bike and that I probably won't get anything for the parts. So what now, I've debated calling a lawyer and seeing how that goes. My agent said they I can leave the bike as is and see what they offer if I reject the offer then I can strip the bike and reach an agreement with the stock

Did you not have aftermarket coverage???

Glad I dropped SF three days ago.

Some adjustors and companies are notorious for making unreasonable offers to settle. I think they often hang these out in hopes that they will catch someone not paying attention. I use to deal with a lot of claims regarding aircraft repairs and found that the final payout was almost always more than the first offer.

It may very well pay you to hire an attorney who deals with these issues on a regular bases. I had done so in the past and it more than paid for their services. Additionally I would contact your insurance rep and see if he wouldn't also be an advocate for you.

The main thing is don't cave on the first go...

insurances are a PAIN to deal with after accident.
good luck to you..hope you get it all figured out with them.

It seems like all hope isn't lost, originally they told me that I would be lucky to get msrp back and that my aftermarket parts wouldn't be worth anything really. The company that did they appraisel came back with $27,700. So now we are waiting on a buy back price. So it looking like ill come out ahead, but the bike back make it a track monster and maybe get something for the street
