Just spoke to Kyle Racing in Cali. They said just upgrading the rear to manual will not throw an Error code on the dash. Apparently only the front will.Sounds like BS to me. Does that sound right to anyone that has done it?

If it is true, then Mupo here I come.

Thanks.

That is inconsistent with my experience. Disconnecting rear DES throws a dash error... Even with front connected

Clearly whoever you talked to doesn't know anything about this bike. Somebody else posted a DES question last week and I shared the exact same as below:

As soos as you disconnect any of the DES wires from the shock or the forks your check engine light and DES light immediately illuminate on the dash.

I'm just surprised that Kyle Racing would say such a thing. :/

Kyle wouldn't say something intentionally misleading... Especially if it was easily refuted. I suspect something was unintentionally misunderstood before assuming the worst

Just like the other guy said maybe they got things mixed up somehow. They had to...

That's why I won't buy a 1299S, because I want everything except that heavy unnecessary electronic suspension. Not feeling stripping it off for ttx-gp and then dealing with the error codes on the dash again.
