Did Yamaha tweak the engine too far for Mugello?

Does anyone else wonder if Yamaha made some tweaks to the engine management to give their bikes more top speed to combat the threat of the Ducati simply pulling away on the long straight? If they did, it looks like they went a bit too far...
 
Engine development is frozen after preseason testing so I doubt they tweeked it. I would think a software/fueling solution. Either way I hope it continues...
 
i had heard lorenzo's had engine issues earlier in the day (or weekend) , i'm surprized they didn't switch out both engines
 
It hapoened during warm up, they didn't have time to change his engine according to autosport. Rossi has previously proven he isn't competetive on his backup bike

but he is more competitive than his broken bike :)

its a shame it happened as the race was awesome
