So pretty much ready for the track but trying to clear out a DTRL error code I am getting. Short of going to the dealer. Is there a way to eliminate the error and disable the lights?

Also anyone have a solid source for the TEXA TXB with software?

Hi:

I don’t know the answer to your question, but I’d just keep the lights connected and tape over them with painters’ tape. Unless I’m mistaken, the track day organizer will make you tape your lights regardless of whether they are plugged in or not. If you don’t like the look of painters’ tape then you can go fancy and buy these:

Do you have light connector plug block offs?

I have for the rear. All good there, but getting code on the front DRL. I mean March 27th I get to pound on this thing at VIR North. I don’t give too many F@#$s about a lil triangle on my screen. That said. Ok for a shake down ride but by early April at Road Atlanta I want that BS out of my way cause my OCD will take over!!! Hahaha I have the other jumpers, plugs etc, but they are superfluous as I have a map built by Daniel Deussen now.
Thanks Daniel

Waiting for Spencer to get back to me as I was not able to kill DRL with the iScan OBDStar

Strange. I never got an error. I'm on a V4 though. The dummy headlight for the V4 doesn't have any kind of a terminator plug, it just fills the space.

I understand it may not have been a feature when first released but this should be pretty easy to drill down into the meter advanced settings and disable the DRL. That’s all the dealer is gonna do. Well that and charge you silly amounts of money for basically turning off a light switch.
we shall see.

Can you provide steps to disable DRL? Was it Meter/Advanced/ then a able disable toggle like some of the other items like automatic turn signals, heated grips etc?

For the V4 its BBS/Egicon/Special Function. The parking light is still on though. Turning it off with the tool seems to duplicate turning it off with the switch, with the difference being it doesn’t default to turning it back on at the next key on.

Correct it disables the light. In my case key on defaults to signal to light. Tosses warning ⚠️ with it disabled it never sees the light working or not thus no code. Shouldn’t be that complex to program if not part of V2 software. That said I decided I work on too many different brands of bike scooter and jet ski so TEXA unit on the way. Anyone looking for a deal on a OSBStar? Worth the number just to not have to have dealer kill maintenance light warning. No chance I ever let a dealer touch this bike.

I have a trackday booked at the end of May. I'll have to check if I just unplug the headlight if it will throw a warning without doing the DRL disable. IIRC, the DRL disable is a market thing. IE, bikes in Canada don't have it enabled by default.

Correct so one should be able to enable and disable no different than heated grips to my thinking. That said I am going to plug in a tail light to see if I am tossing a code from the rear of the bike but doubt it.
