was wondering if you guys did it yourself or took it to the dealership. How much did you guys end up spending on oil and filter vs. paying 2 bills at the shop for one?

In my humble opinion and not wanting to offend anyone going to the dealership:), however I think it may be worthwhile trying it yourself. I found it very easy and it also ensures that you know 100% what oil went into the bike.
I just bought a filter and washer online.

Helps you get to know the bike as well. (more smiley faces)

I would change the oil yourself...if you want full dealer service history get them to do the annuals and just do as many oil changes as you like.

Hey Brad

Did you also cleaned once the oil sump as described in the workshop manual?
I never did it because I hate taking off the cans. But anyway, as far as I remember it should only be done all 12000km or so....

I always change the oil myself and let the dash get reset at the dealer.
1st one learns much about the bike, 2nd it's cheaper. Here dealer charges three times the price for the oil of what you have to pay if you order it online.

THE oil change "how to" written by antihero is a must in my opinion for all new non-lefthanded Pani owners: http://ducati1299.com/guides/15246-how-change-oil.html

Hell yeah thanks guys!
shell advanced 4T ultra 15w50 and a K&N filter can't wait to change oil I'm at 13k and last oil change was at 9k LOL

I change oil myself every 4-6 thousand kms, and take the bike to the dealer for scheduled service.to make sure I haven't missed anything.
