I just pick up my 2013 1199 base ABS, and it did not come with the aero kit, shouldn't all 2013 come with the aero kit now? Also is the new fairing sight hole directly in line with the engine oil sight window? My fairing has a hole on it, but it is in more toward the front of the bike, so I still cannot see the oil level directly, is that still a 2012 fairing? The build date of the bike is 2012 July.

Mine was a Nov '12 build and the oil hole makes it easy to see the level.

Maybe yours is last of the '12 models?

Mine is also a tri which came with aero but not idea about base bikes

Pic before PDI is the easiest one I have to see the holes, small one next to clutch cover is the oil window as such.

Have we concluded that 2013 bikes may or may not come with the kit or are we focusing on the question whether dealers are failing to properly deliver the kit?

The base Pani does not come with the aero kit, only the S and Tri

I disagree. Again, it's random at best. My 2012 base came with them.

Mine didn't. Same dealer too. Note that I requested they not install the mirrors or footpegs. On delivery I got a box (with the bikes serial number and various other labels) that contained the passenger seat, pegs and mirrors all in the original bubble wrap. It also had the owner's manual and that book-like brouchure in a sealed envelope.

Point is that I do not think it is the dealer failing to give people the extentions, more likely who ever packs the boxes at the factory.

Personally I think the fairing extentions are ugly and would have asked them not to install those either.

Aero Kit

Was recommended by dealer that the pieces not be installed as they scratch the fairing and Ducati do not cover under warranty. Anyone experience this?

That is true. They will scratch, so once you do it, you cannot remove them as the scratches will show. I am installing mine anyway.

I think it comes down to what Ducati sends the dealer. My friend and I ordered and received our bikes late May/early June last year, both base ABS models. He got the extensions, I didn't. Our dealer said it was down to what Ducati put in the box for each bike.

How are the units attached to the fairing? Thanks.

They just snap on and some are using 3m guard it a clear film, there was a thread on that I think.
