Does 99 even have a chance this year?

why is stoner so fast on it? why cant anybody else ride it?

If you ever watched the slow motion of Stoner on the old Duc coming out of the corners, you'd see the bike bucking all over the place like a bull but you'd see Stoners hand never backing off that throttle. He's just a damn fine bull rider.

Interesting that Stoner didn't test at his home track, I don't know why but maybe having a retired fisherman faster than your factory riders wouldn't go down too well with anyone concerned, especially not your $7 mill a year superstar, makes him look very overpriced.

Just forget about Stoner, he is a freak of a rider.

Now, lets get back to Lorenzo. It's incredible to read so many people writing him off so quickly, don't forget he has essentially ridden the same bike for nine years and everyone knows his style is very unique.
His first test you could see the team working over time just getting the seat right for him, making small, incremental changes or baby steps.

Someone pointed out that Lorenzo shaved something like 1.5 seconds from day one to day three at Philip Island, yet Rossi only went something like .3 faster over the 3 days.

Vinales is going to be the one to watch, if he can string the whole race together he will be in championship contention.

Anyway, with my mate Lorenzo at Phillip Island testing ;)

how can you forget about stoner. yes he is an alien rider however you have had dovi iaonne and now lorenzo saying the bike cant do this or that while stoner shows that it can do this and that.
is stoner that much better than say lorenzo and every other ducati rider before him or is the ducati that much different from every other bike?

I Google it too last year and funny said the same thing. I do t this k anybody really knows. Do u think jlo would leave for 7 million when Yamaha offered him 10

I was interested to see what some of the lesser riders were getting, I find it hard to believe that anyone in moto gp is only on $150K a year, only a guess but I would've thought that was moto3 money, anyway, I guess we probably won't know, I would be more inclined to believe your $15 mill figure.

It's easy to dismiss Stoner a viable rider, because the refuses to ride. We all know he's probably the most talented rider to hit the track in the last 20 years, but he doesn't ride. We snuck into the back of Misano a couple days before WDW16, we watched Stoner test..he's fast, damn fast!

I haven't read or heard Lorenzo bag the bike at all, I believe he's said he needs to adapt and find some mid corner speed which he's missing. Stoner is also not doing race simulations, big difference and Lorenzo is yet to do a time attack. A few quick laps in testing versus race distance is vastly different.

You also seem to forget Ducati are running last years fairings sans wings, whilst some of the others are playing with integrated wings. Gigi has said they will run the current fairings at the first round then new fairings at the second round, there's method in his madness.

I don't remember the exact dollar amount, but Hayden was in the lower six figure range on his way out.

i am saying 15million because word is he was very mad that they offered him the same money as rossi after just winning the 2015 title. JLO is the number 1 rider or was at yamaha (3 titles in 6 years) so if they offered him 10 million ducati had to offer more to get him or at least the same.

ducati isnt even paying malandry

I got to chat once with Bradley Smith when he first went to Tech3 and he said that was the first year of his racing career where he actually got paid for racing. I can't remember the exact number but I think it was 600,000 euros. So unless your one of the blessed I don't think racing is a easy path.

In WSBK it was said that #33 was given a bike and any money he gets from the team,(ducati) is based on his finishes.

I read a long time ago (I think Neil Hodgson said it) that VR's helmet contract was more money than some professional MotoGP racers earned annually. Naive me didn't believe it at the time. I sure believe it now!
