Ha let me clarify, it is normal on the V2. V4 not positive but if the mechanism is similar then I would say yes

As a data point, my V4 does the same. I only recently discovered that and was similarly wondering if it was normal. I've learned so much from this forum!

More or less...

I'm guessing that it's designed that way to accommodate for the expansion of the shaft due to the difference in heat, inside and outside of the gearbox.

yes I tested several bikes at the dealership..... they all do that Sir!
