I just fitted the DP rearsets and I'm a bit unsure....when I'm rolling they feeel comfortable enough but they do feel a little high. The dealer said they are not height adjustable (after they were fitted) - any ideas how to drop them a tad?

You cannot drop them and you shouldn't want too. Just add the DP racing seat and your problems are over…. it will raise your seated height.

Incorrect, you can adjust them. They are two position adjustable, high and low. I have mine set to low. Fair warning, if you like the stock pitch or angle of the shift lever before changing to DP rearsets, you will have a hard time adjusting to a similarly low angle if using the LOW position.

In the HIGH position all the adjustments are great, but like in your case they were just simply too high for me. If you dont feel comfortable I would take it the dealer and ask them to do it.

Otherwise have at it, but after setting the peg height, be prepared to readjust the linkage, check for full shift travel, so you dont get missed shifts or gear pop outs like other people have been, and of course make sure you have the proper travel to set off the corresponding sensors. Ie DQS on the left, and good brake light timing or turn on travel on the right.

The rearsets come with a little installation instruction pamphlet and different shift shafts and fasteners for reverse shifting, fyi. Obviously if you have that stuff it will make future adjustments much easier.

I installed and setup my own so I am very familiar with the intricacies and limitations of these particular rearsets.

This will sound like a smart ass answer but check out the newly released Gilles Tooling rearsets. Very adjustable, very pretty. Although I wish the offered them in annodized gold color to match the 1199's cases. Only 2 choices: silver or black.

When switching from High to Low position, you have to switch the shift shaft to one of the alternate ones provided in the kit. There are instructions in the manual for what the total shifter arm length should be in both positions, both for standard and reverse shift pattern. If you get that right, you should have full adjustability for your shifter height. I run my shifter angle pretty low, and had no problem adjusting it with the pegs in the low position:

Pictures please (george). I agree jarel, as low as you have them they are not a problem. I set mine about that low, maybe a little lower. But that is still a little higher than stock (an angle I actually preferred personally).

As an example, random picture off the web, you see that the shifter is about 1/2" to 1" lower than your setting, the bottom of the shifter is almost flush with the fairing

You can see mine is just a little lower but not enough for my tastes, keep in mind I have the length almost fully extended, as I have big feet

I tried to go lower and found that the small heim joint linkage on the back would hit before allowing a complete positive downshift.

And to george, if yours is in the high position the peg will cover the other hole. If you inspect closer either with a cell camera or your fingers at the back of the peg you should find two positions. This is much easier to identify on the right or brake side.

Anyone else have those two holes to adjust? Is that part of the kit? Looks
Like part of the bike?

That entire bracket is part of the kit, there are two mounting holes for the footpeg position, which moves the entire peg and pedal assembly up or down.

Ok so took bike back to the dealer - they had set one on low setting and one on high! They have now put both on low!

Kills me that they could do that and not even realize - attention to detail questionable. As if to prove a point t I asked them to I stall the carbon ignition cover while I was there. They didn't secure the small screw on the left hand side properly, had to fix when I got home.

Thanks Jarel for putting me on the right track!

Just a foot-note.....love the rearsets now, really grippy, locks me into the bike. Expensive but look great.

I love the DP rear sets, they do appeal to expensive tastes and I have yet to see anything remotely better.

FYI, they didnt set them that way. Mine came from factory with one set high and one set low. I mentioned that with pics in another thread.

They probably just installed them and that was that. They probably didnt even test ride it or loctite all the bolts if they didnt properly set it up for you.

But seeing how thats resolved hopefully they did a good job on the second pass. Doesnt sound like it though if they messed up on your ignition cover too.

For your own sake, you should probably check all the hardware on your rearsets after a few rides. Obviously not one of the places you want to experience an issue.

To george, did you get yours squared away?

Mine were the same way, came out of the box with one in high and one in low, and the bolts were not tight. Make SURE that all of the bolts, particularly the ones holding the footpegs on, are loctited and tightened properly. They are only loosely assembled from the factory and are not meant to just be bolted on to the bike and ridden.

Does anyone know if you still need the DP reverse Quick ashift kit if you buy the DP rearsets and want to ride in GP mode without losing DQS?

I'm wondering the same thing. If my new sets (GP Lightech) come with the shift rod linkage flipped, I can simply flip it at the gearbox.

The DP rearsets have a rocker linkage built into them to allow reverse shifting without requiring the alternate reverse quick-shifter switch. You CAN use the reverse quick-shifter switch with the DP rearsets as well, but you don't HAVE to. With any other rearsets, you'll need the reverse quick-shifter switch, I'm not aware of any that have the rocker linkage built-in like the DP ones, someone can correct me on that if they've seen any.

Lightech IIRC. I'll know for sure shortly. They sell fixed and folding versions of STD and GP.
