So I approached a T-junction on a steep incline, stopped the bike to check for traffic and somehow lost my footing on the rear brake, bike rolled back on the downward slope and I tried in vain to hold it upright but it fell to my right. Luckily I was able to hold the bike to a degree so it fell onto the road in "slow motion", but it still fell on its right hand side. I got off the bike and picked it up expecting to see major scratches and damage, but **lucky stars** there was only a tiny scratch on the clutch cover (which will soon be covered up with the DP carbon cover), a very tiny chip on the faring and a couple of small scratches on the brake lever tip.

I really got away with this one this time.... could have been SO much worse.

Damn !!! Lucky no major damage. Looks like a set of more grippy pegs would have saved it.

Pheeewwww!!!!!! So glad the damage is minor.

I almost got the lace of my Dainese boot caught on the brake pedal a few weeks back, which would have caused a similar effect.

Gotta thank Anthony from Revzilla for the warning - needless to say their SHORT now :)

Damn, that sucks. I imagine it all played out in slow motion as it was happening.

A guy at work was waxing his ZX6R, which is his first bike, and he didn't realize how unstable that bike is on the side stand due to the upright position. He pushed a little too hard and it fell over. He was bummed but once he bought a new tail section and lower fairing all was good again.

Lucky about the minimal damage!

I've been worried since getting the bike it would be me posting this topic. ;-)

I'm terrible, I've dropped my 848 four times! All with minor damage luckily! but still it adds up :-(

That really sucks! :( Too bad there wasn't someone immediately behind you. Perhaps the "stinger" would have stuck into their grill and you would have stayed upright.

I feel your pain - my neighbor sitting on my two-day old monster dismounted WITHOUT lowering the side stand. Minor damage but still painful to witness.

There's a video somewhere on here of another unfortunate rider at a gas station who drops his on the left side.

Bad luck. Hope you can get it sorted easily.

As far as I know, there are only two kinds of riders: those who have dropped their bike and those who will.

CAUTION!!! Painful to look at

Saw this a few weeks ago and had to save this pic...apparently it was parked and got reversed into by a lady driving a VW....guy said he had full coverage which implies that the lady wasn't paying for it...

That is painful to look at. You notice bike even looks smaller on its side, lol. I think alot of people are not going to see those skinny little bikes. I wonder if pound for pound if the Panigale is not the most expensive bike.

The lady reversing into a parked bike has happened to me too but thankfully not with my Duke. The bike in question was less than a month old! Insurance picked up the tab but so 'feckin mad at the time.

Bad luck mate.

Speaking of damaging bikes, I had my own episode 2230 last night...didnt realize how bad it was until this morning.

Well nothing's broken tho very swollen...riding on the hwy last night the tire of a semi exploded and I unavoidably ran over a big peice which also hit my foot...managed to keep the bike up thank God.

Did exrays and hyper extended my foot against and under the peg OUCH....was afraid to look down, felt like my foot was missing.

So here's some before and after some TLC, she's looking pretty again. Still some damage to the aluminum sleeve of the exhaust can...no biggy, she's not a show peice, shes a daily rider ;)

be safe yall, cheers

Hey look at it this way, you got it out of the way. A lot of people drop their bikes like that... Glad there was no real damage.

This reminds me of the demo bike from Munroe wich suffered a similar fate, except a lady ran it over with a suv!!! Deffinetly blows the goat how some people are soooo oblivious while driving, wonder how they were given a liscence in the first place!! Makes me sooo mad!! Had two ( not racist just stating the facts) different Asian ladies run into my monster while parked!!

That curb IS in San Francisco... look at the curb, it's MTA. Must be the same bike.

not racist just stating the facts

In France, saying that doesn't work. You're still called racist.

Anyway, when I got my moto license, one shat its pants while riding and almost totaled the bike, the other one went through a red light 50 meters after the beginning. Both got their license.

No wonder how we are then not safe on the road.
