Ducabike/jetlrime Kill switch

So im thinking of purchasing it, and then velcroing the keybox shut instead of screws. Can someone explain how they made the extension? I would want to place the keybox in the tail if possible, but im not sure how i would wire it like that. I have carbon frame covers/subtail frame covers and i could possibly run the wire under them to the back.

However, if someone can suggest a nice spot for the box where i can easily remove the keybox/key i would be open to that too.

Thanks everyone!

I probably would not velcro the key box shut there is a reason the screws are there but I would wrap foam/velcro around the unit which is what I did so its not crashing around in the tail. The extension harness you will need to get some mill spec wire and all the connectors from mouser electronics. The harness will run down the left side above the electronics holder then through the subframe into the tail. If you have a Full Six mono tail you will have plenty of room its quite tight with the stock subframe/tail.

If you remove the key from the key box (or in my case remove the key box altogether from the wiring harness) then the bike will default to pin operation. press the ’kill switch’ to start the ignition and you are prompted to enter your 4 digit pin.

Spoke to ducabike on instagram. They said what I proposed is possible. The issue is, the keybox is wired to the ignition wire which is located near the front. In order to move the keybox to a more accessible location, you would need an extended wire. Not sure where to source one of those. Would probably have to be custom made.

Regardless, just let me know after you install what exactly happens, once the key is removed from the keybox. It won't work once the key is removed but im curious on the exact distance.

Yes the steering lock not being present would suck but regardless, having a push to start would be pretty neat.
You could always start the bike with the pin code

Guys I finally received my jet prime kill switch! It’s hooked properly screws in the key box and all! Bike won’t light up or even let me go to pin code nothing it’s dead. Battery has been hooked to a battery tender!!
Help!!! What could it possibly be????

Check these white connectors. The wires are extremely small and break very easily (.... design). It’s super easy to break these wires if you pulled on this during installation2829A412-CE99-4998-94D4-94B5F52F9E93.jpegE67962AD-CE46-488D-A744-DA8C3A8570F7.jpeg

These aren’t the issue, it’s the bigger one that connects to the bike, it seems like it connects only when it’s half way through!! Any fix for this??

Thats this connector. Never seen an issue with that other than Mis aligned pins or the inner connector sleeve isn’t seated. Mick, any ideas?

Those are the correct connectors so looks like one of the pins just pushed out so the immobilizer has to be plugged in for the bike to turn on regardless there is a key there. Shoot us a picture of the back the connector should be a pin dangling there or just pushed out.

I think I just got the worst luck haha

also now I was trying to find where I set my pin code for the bike just trying every way possible and I don’t seem to have the pin code choice on the Settings menu. Pictures attached!

The pins on the connector seem fine to me and pretty normal, but it only connects when it’s plugged half way! I may have to change them, have you tried disconnecting the pins from the plastic housing ?? If so, how is it done??

Please let me know that I’m not going crazy!!

Thank you guys you are amazing

If you never set a pin code you need to try last 4 of the vin but bike is not gonna turn on unless the immobilizer is plugged in. To remove the pins you need a good set of pin extractors. Good to have all the right tools, crimpers, complete connectors and pins to do the entire bike.

Also the pin code option isn’t available on the settings menu on my bike! I actually thought it was weird a while back but never really cared! Is this normal ??

Do they even make one for that bike? Looking at the back of the connector he posted there are 6 wires on the female and 5 on the male (one of the center pins has a dummy plug) not a Mitsubishi bike.

I haven't looked to see if JP makes anything for the V2/V4 (Siemens) so that's why I questioned a pin missing so it all makes sense now why the bike won't power up.

Bought this on motowheels and they said it works on v2’s!
Thank you guys for your input you’re amazing!! Learning a lot with you
So I’ll email them to get a suitable one!
Also lastly, how come my bike doesn’t have the pin code settings?
