Ducabike Throttle Housing

Has anyone installed this? Thoughts? I actually have a Triumph Street Twin, but I am pretty sure the throttle control is the same as on many Ducati including the 1199 Panigale. I got thinking about this because I was thinking of installing some metal grips by Rizoma but thought the throttle side might look silly next to the stock plastic throttle housing.

I have one but I changed it out for the Jet Prime quick throttle. Worked just fine. As far as it working on a Triumph I would contact Ducabike to confirm with them first.

Thanks. I can see why you switched to the Jet Prime product—cool!

Any negatives on the Ducabike product?

I have contacted them, but I doubt I will get a satisfactory yes/no. I guess one thing I could do would be to share photos of my throttle housing.

Do you still have the Ducabike product? Would you be interested in selling it?

Love my metal grips! I don’t think it looks bad….

Although I get funny looks from fellow track riders at Cota all the time. Although none of them can really articulate to me why metal groups are bad for the track I’m not having any issues getting faster every time…..

Yeah—I may just be being obsessive. If the black on the Ducabike housing is much different from the grips then that could look weird too! I must say though that I am on a mission to replace all plastic on my bike with metal haha.

Are those Rizoma grips?

I was curious about these also (Ducabike and the Jet Prime versions). Other than better quality any other benefits?

Jet Prime also a version that includes the starter button -anyone use this?

Any issues and how do you like it compared to stock?

Well I was pretty much forced to go this route as I changed to a Galespeed master cylinder and there was no room on the bar with the stock housings. It’s a really nice piece tho and looks the part

Am I right that the stock housing has a little knob on it that goes into the handlebar but the Ducabike doesn’t? I guess this is because the Ducabike one is metal so you can tighten it down more so you don’t need the knob?

Thanks. One thing I note about the Ducabike housing is it doesn’t have these two notches you can see in the picture below from a Monster throttle. I guess these prevent you from twisting the throttle too far but aren’t really necessary? I know the Ducabike throttle doesn’t have a tab for the locating hole on the handlebars, but I think the tabs in the picture below are not that. Thoughts?

You mean as opposed to the other tabs on the potentiometer that the throttle tube presses against? You can also see those in the picture—they are different sizes. The tabs circled in red are on the housing but the Ducabike doesn’t seem to have them.

i guess i'm not understanding your issue...

the stock setup has pins for the bar, so that you can turn/twist it, and tabs internally that the grip aligns with, these are the ones that people are putting spacers over to remove the slop.

the duca housing does not have the pins, but i'm pretty sure it has to have the tabs that afix to the throttle tube/grip...

It doesn’t look to have any tabs…

The tabs you are talking about (that people put the spacers on to remove slop) are on the potentiometer, which is what is turned inside the housing by the throttle tube. When you install the Ducabike product, you put the stock potentiometer into it. The tabs you are talking about I believe are circled in yellow below. I am wondering about the tabs circled in red, which I believe are on the stock plastic housing (as opposed to on the potentiometer) but do not seem to be on the Ducabike product.
