The question is, what is going on with Ducati!!!!

Am I jumping the gun a bit because it's pretty much the first run for the 1199 R in WSBK?

It is frustrating to see Checa an Bavondini Struggle in 12 and 13th place race after race.

The 1098 won out right in 2007 first production year for the bike. Well Bayliss was at the helm for that run. Steve Martin(WSBK commentator) was saying that the 1199 R was being held to the same restrictions as the 1198 R before it. Ducati felt as if they were being unfairly sequestered due to their 1200cc motor vs. their 999cc competition, this was "why" Ducati pulled away from WSBk for the past two years. Steme Martin also went on to mention that Ducati created a weapon of a bike but cannot unlease it's full potential due to the restrictions enforced agains by WSBK. If you take a look at the Super Stock 1000 the 1199 R's have been on podium finishes for all three races so far. In today's race in first and third place. Race in Aragon second place and the race in Phillip Island in second place.

I mean what is going on here!

I am just frustrated at the unsatifactory performances of late especially in WSBK. MotoGP they have to dompletely re-engineer the desmo. We have had and still have excellent riders on board. I just feel as if we're not making the best use of the potential we have to win championships.

Would anyone here like to see Ben Spies race for Ducati in WSBK or would tha be only me.

at wsbk it's simple : Corse has all of its best people focussed on motoGP. Waisting 25 years of wsbk experience on a dud. so they even't have a F013 bike as they hired a very good but not factory team on last notice to start working on the WSBK.

the bike winning in Supserstock says enough on it's potential. If it can beat a HP4 in that class, it can in WSBK. All that needs to be done is get their mind around it. sticking to both series will make them look like sh.t in both races, WSBK being the one that made their heritage.

Neukircher backbenched the imposed ducati electronics guys for not being senior enough to do the development.

i strongly think they are sandbaggging as well.. so to make it absolutely clear that this restrictions are way to heavy and create enough drama to get them changed. we know that the WSBK bike does not make more HP than the SS bike.. now, if you want to change the rules and loose the restriction, there is no sense in finishing 2,3,4,5 or 6 and evenutally win one, now is there? it does help to get clobbered. and that is what we see.

now , squeezing the same power out of a heavily restricted bike is some feat. but far from good enough to run against a competition that is now the strongest it has ever been. BMW, Aprilia, Kawasaki have on thing in common : They are not active in motogp! and focus their tremendous resources and knowhow on a class that sell bikes : WSBK

look at Porsche : their rep comes from not doing F1!

i'll say it again : Ducati has no place in motogp and should pull out. otherwise they will look like idiots in the series that made them ..

I agree with kope, one they are sadbagging its obvious and it sucks that the panigale has the air restriction however the superstock panigale R is doing well and keeping up with the BMW s all we could is wait until they change the rules

+1 - it would be nice to see the 1199 do well in WSBK . But I'm happy to see it's kicking butt in Superstock.

panigale in wsbk

not sure if checa can do the business at the moment i think Ducati should get their cheque book out and get Troy Bayliss out of retirement .

Guys it is the restrictor and a new bike with little to no technical info from racing it yet.

After this 3rd round result the powers that be in WSBK will meet re the parity of the bikes and I am almost certain that the restrictions will go or at least be reduced to give a greater air intake.

The bike suffers from between 10 and 25 klm/h reduction in top speed compared to the other bikes due to the current restrictions.

Look at Super Stock which does not carry the restrictions and see how well Canepa and La Barra ( Hope I spelt their names right ) are doing. Pole and second on the Grid and a great end result which I won't mention incase you have not seen the race.

It took Kawasaki, BMW and Aprilia quite a few years to get their bikes cooking as they are now. Have faith and patience, Ducati is not the most winning brand in WSBK history for nothing!

Restrictors don't really cause you to get whooped in the corners and under braking. As stated above, they are getting whooped everywhere.
Kope has to be on to something. They must be sandbagging. And I sincerely hope so.

Let's give some credit to Ducati Panigale R riders Eddie La Marra and Canepa. Eddie La Mara won on the Panigale this morning and Canepa came in 3rd in Super Stock 1000. It was a great finish for Eddie La Marra.

That race was fantastic. A clash to the death all the way till the line. It was unbelievable...

I will keep the faith. I believe that they need to fine tune the bike as well. It's a brand new bike with little to no race time. Once they work the kinks out and fine tune it, I think we'll be seeing a very successful generation of Ducati Superbike.

The question is, what is going on with Ducati!!!!

.....see Ben Spies race for Ducati in WSBK or would tha be only me.

Myself:

Weight: 90kg
Riding skills: I ride a 1.2L because I'm slow in corners (for now)
Eastern Creek max speed 250kmh over the 800m straight  w/o pushing as hard as the bike could

Carlos Checa:

Weight: 69kg
Riding skills: he rides a 1.2L because he's an official ducati rider
Assen max speed 278kmh over a 600m straight

...that's what I call air restrictor...

Biaggi to Ducati.....Word from the Italian Press. Can someone confirm the legitimacy of this?

WSBK is screwing Ducati Over, I'm telling you it's a conspiracy!!!!

LOL

A few pictures from last weekend. Were guests at Alstare. Good food and hospitality at its best. Also just came out of the blue and you say no no to. What a top weekend. We were allowed in the pit box and with Checa and Badovini in the picture. Rick was allowed to sit on the bikes.

The Panigale has problems with breathing and the cooling, radiator surface. And one must still use the restrictors of 50 mm. In recent years, the four-cylinder only become faster. After Monza, they are allowed to go 54 mm and then watch them what the differences are. Panigale of Checa ran on Assen 275 and the BMW and Aprilia 292. In the Superstock 1000 no problems.

Saw Falappa again.

I have to say that I think that is really nice of them to let the little one actually sit on the race bike like that........ good on them!

Imagine that happening in MotoGP.....

here's the article (I'm italian ;)):

Biaggi torna su una Ducati, E la rossa in crisi sogna - La Gazzetta dello Sport

it basically says that:

1- Biaggi will test the 1199 R at Mugello mid next week
2- The initial hypothesis is that Biaggi will help Ducati with the development of the 1199 since Checa seems not up to the task and Biaggi successfully developed the RSV4 in the previous years
3-Speculations say that he could also go back to racing.
4-From Monza onwards Ducati will have the air restrictor taken from 50mm to 52mm
