Ducati 1299 Technology
Exploiting competition experience to the full, a series of advanced electronic control systems has been created to perfect engine and chassis reactions in all circumstances. Whether you are riding on mountain passes, on the track, on dry tarmac, or under the rain, these controls radically improve riding pleasure and help you to safely exploit the enormous potential of the 1299 Panigale.
Event Based
IMU - Inertial Platform
The IMU reads the motorcycle's spatial orientation. By interacting with the dedicated sensors, maximum precision is guaranteed for the ABS, DWC and the Ohlins Smart EC suspension.
Mini SCU - Ohlins Suspension Control Unit
The Ohlins control unit regulates the fork and the Smart EC single suspension system. It also handles the steering damper.
Innovative Suspension
Rear shock absorber - EC TTX mono-shock
The single rear TTX mono-shock electronically adjusts the hydraulics, both in extension and compression.
Front fork - NIX-30
The NIX-30 fork is upside-down with electronic adjustment of the hydraulics, both in extension and compression.
Performance under control
DQS - Quick shift sensor
The Quick Shift system enables upshift and downshift with precision and speed without needing to ease off the throttle.
ABS unit - Cornering ABS
The Bosch 9.1mp control unit elaborates motorcycle orientation data so as to act optimally on the braking system.
Power supremacy
Ride by wire - Throttle control
Ride by wire electronically manages throttle reaction taking into account all data received from different sensors to establish the correct opening of the throttle body.
DTC, DWC, EBC - Electronic controls on the handlebar
New buttons designed to control the acting parameters of DTC, DWC and EBC have been conceived to work also while you're on the move.
Shape and function
LED - Full LED technology
Both indicators and front and rear lights use full LED technology to achieve a futuristic style and functionality.
TFT - Dashboard
A color TFT display makes it possible to display and monitor the bike's parameters and settings, while the menu can be used to customize these settings according to the rider's wishes.
State of the art electronics
BBS black box - Control over the bike
This is the control unit which manages and adjusts the main electronic vehicle functions: DTC (Ducati Traction Control) and DWC (Ducati Wheelie Control). It implements an automatic calibration device according to the top gear ratio and the diameter of the rear tyre.
ECU - Control over the engine
Controls and adjusts the main engine functions including: fuel injection, spark timing and idling speed, as well as engine braking and DQS.
