Hey Everyone!

In need of some help finding a reputable engine rebuilder for a Desmosedici RR. Unfortunately the bike was store with the all the fluids still in it, and it only has 15 miles on it. Any help with a very reliable and reputable engine rebuilder would be great. I'm located on the East Coast, but can get the bike shipped if needed.

Thanks!

15 miles how could it be that gunky? Drain the oil put the drain plug back in, pull the fill plug and valve covers and fill it with kerosene (it won't hurt the seals) and let it sit for awhile, drain it and do it again. Drain it.Let it dry, fill with oil fire it off, let it run a bit, drain the oil again. I can't begin to imagine the cost of parts for those.

I was told the anti-freeze corroded the head but I will have more info later in the week on exactly what the issue is. Just want to try and be prepared for what it might need.

This bike had the corroded gasket/head if I remember correctly. Think it was pretty minor but they did a whole rebuild nonetheless. Took like a year

Yep, that's exactly what I was told is the same situation for this bike. Just need to find someone that can rebuild it now.

Can you get a head for those? Did it have that nasty blue coolant in it? Might be able to just pull the heads and leave the rest alone. If both the head and deck of the block is corroded you could probably flycut the deck if the corrosion is superficial. If the head's corroded it'll most likely be worthless unless again the pitting isn't deep.

Yeah I'll be able to get more details later this week on exactly what's wrong with it. Can hopefully go from there.
