Well the Ducati 848 evo is gone , i was not impressed with it from day 1 and my first ride as the power was vey disappointing , but i tried i fitted the Akra , re map , -1 off the front and +2 on the rear sprockets , quick action throttle , airfilter this got it to feel better . i have been to the track with it 3 times and it was just as bad , to get it to handle like i want it was going to cost me just way to much money and i would still have a under powered poo cart .

so yesterday the guy picked it up and paid in cash this morning i picked up my new toy and its a real bike :-}}

only ridden it home so far ut i will load it up in the morning and head out to Sentul for a few laps and see how it goes , dam these sound so good :-}

Welcome and you will enjoy the RSV4, I have the R. check out the forum sponsored by AF1. I want the 1199 an the RC8R an I'm set lol.

I find the Akro too quiet for my liking tho, an Austin Racing can is next for me.

I'm here to learn more on the 1199 Duc myself for either a new 1199 or new RC8R next I can't decide yet.

i used to be on AF1 when i had the SXV's i logged in the other day but it seams to be down at the moment .

what gearing are you running on the RSV4 ?

i love the RC8R its a weapon of a bike i cant wait to see how this compares to it

i looking at the 1199 waiting on price now for 1 in superstock trim , no point buying one then throwing half of it away so getting one built should have the prices back next week

here is my RC8R track bike

Hi Shane,
Was waiting for a photo. Looking forward to reading the track report.

Is a track 1199 still on the cards for next year?

Appreciate the shared experience, but wrong forum.

Says who. Great first post, as you don't even know the guy.

yes mate still looking at the 1199 , hopefully ill pick one up latter in the year . will be another track bike , as all mine are just cant do the street thing

Nice selection of bikes Shanes - if you do go with a Superstock Panigale, it will be in good company.

Let us know how you get on if you go for a Austine Raceing can. A bud tried the first, short GP style can and later the v2. Both were too loud and failed the noise tesing at the track (105db max at a static check) with over 106db. Db killers did the trick, but his fueling was off just a touch because of it. He ended up going with a full Akrapovic system, which he liked much better.

Back to Ducati, interested to know what they say about a Superstock trim 1199. I was told that they were only available if you were competing in a Superstock series. Are you running in a Superstock series or have you heard differently?

You got good taste on bikes Shane.....if price wasn't an issue for me.....I would've jump on that gorgeous bike.:cool:

well i had it at Sentual international circuit today and was very impressed , very usable power , you can short shift or just hold the gear and the engine works well , chassis was nice a stiff a lot more feel from the front tire than the Ducati but in its standard spec it doesnt turn as quick as the RC8R but , i can adjust the triple clamp offset and swingarm pivot so will look in to this when i get some more miles under my belt on it . Gearing was way to tall so ill order a 520 kit -1 on the front +2 on the rear , i read to better go with the 110 link to keep the rear wheel at the back but it was very stable on the brakes i thought it could have been a bit shorter .

over all i love the bike , i really hope Ducati step it up with the 1199 and make it more focused as the 848/1198 are way to mellow and you have to spend nearly as much on parts as you pay for the bike to get them to work .

DRSapp i got the prices in this morning but wait on the proper quote to come through . yes your right anyone can not just order the kit through a dealer but if you have the right dealer or race team you can get them , i have 2 different spec's being quoted so be interesting to see what they come back with .
