Looking for any ideas. I have a 1199s with ABS with the Termignoni slip-on. I have two issues I don't think they are related but here they are.
The first problem is a hypothetical one if you know what I mean. (In no way were any speed laws broken) Winding out 3rd gear and shifting into 4th, it pulls as if the clutch is slipping and running very rough with a mild pull. Or, it pops out of gear, back into 3rd and over revs, when shifted into 5th it pulls strong and hard.
I took it to the dealer and their reply was they can't brake speed laws to test the bike, so sorry they can't help me. I asked if I could reproduce it on a dyno would they then fix it? I got a, "we will get back to you on that one."
That is when I ran into the new issue. Ducati sent me the letter to make an appointment with my dealer for the 41 tooth sprocket change and heat shields. I had my dealer put the Ducati quick-change sprocket carrier, 41 tooth sprocket, 15 tooth counter shaft sprocket and a new chain. Then the dealer tells me that they did not get the new up-map in for the electronics but it should be fine until the new up-map comes in next week. On the ride home, the bike started to sputter, spit and jump at 6000 RPM. If I get on it, the bike pulls hard. But, if I try to hold the RPM anywhere between 6000-9000 RPM, it is a wild ride like holding on to a bucking horse, it does this in all gears.
I took the bike back to the dealer with them telling first that they will put it on the computer. Again, stating that they can't brake the speed laws to test it.
After seeing a note on the computer from Ducati Techs saying its the DTC not liking the new sprocket without the new up-map, the dealer changed it back to a 39 tooth sprocket on the Ducati quick-change sprocket carrier. I was told to wait for the new up-map that will be in, sometime in the next 3-6 weeks or more. When I rode home it did the same thing with the new 39 tooth sprocket. But now, at 7000 RPM. I turned off the DTC and it still does it. I turned it back in to my dealer but they seemed stumped telling they needed to keep it to have the owner ride it.
I hope all of this makes sense.
Any ideas are welcome Thanks Guys.
