Hey leftcoast32, what does the paper say in the bag in the upper right? I got the same bag with the wire bracket and screws, but no paper and no explanation on what it's used for. Does that paper offer any insight what it is?

Chris.

The paper is just the part tag that says bracket. I could not figure out what they wanted done with that either. It may be for the brake lines and wires? I was able to tuck everything out of harms way so I didn't use it either.

Joe, thanks for the info. I fooled around with the bracket and couldn't figure out why I'd need it with the bike set up as stock. Back into the box it went.

Something else I tried different from what the instructions said to do. You see the forward bolt on heel guard in your pic? If you look about an inch below that bolt, there's another threaded hole. It happens to line up perfectly and you can bolt the heel guard to it too. The forward stock bolt is the extra long one and it hits the brake slave cylinder on the DP rear set in the upper hole, but has loads of room in the lower hole. The heel guard sits at a similar angle as the heel guard on the other side too.

I shortened the long front bolt. As you stated it was touching the Master. I just relocated the front bolt so the heal guard is more upright. Thanks!

I'm still wondering what is the proper setting for the heel guard,
The right side looks off,,,

If any one gets it perfect post a photo

Here is a picture with the heal guard in the other position talked about above.

That is the correct position for that heal guard. There are two different styles of heal guards which is why there are two positions. I have both. I'll post pics of them when I get a chance.

@leftcoast,

Your bike looks beautiful. I do like the knee grips and hoped one can simply purchase those pieces alone. Any solution to the tank belt buckle guard? I was thinking of the Shift-Tech Carbon (Matte), but also worried that it might peel away.

I wish I can keep my bikes as clean as yours; just too lazy to I guess. Thanks for the pics and installation review. I do like riding in a more stretched out position of the stock lower pegs, but would it be plausible to swap them back to either Rizoma or DP rearsets for the track? I had my Rizomas installed and do not quite know the difficulty or the length of procedure.

The Knee Grips were nice while they lasted. We rode in Vegas this summer and it got so hot they started moving around. I removed them when I got back.

I do not have anything on the bike now and actually like it best. I just have to be careful of scratching the tank.

The DP Rear-Set is by far my favorite modification.

Tank pad looks spot on to me.... at least its sticking..Mine peels constantly..The "carbon" one is garbage...

That why I haven't put one on, every one I've seen seems to peel. I also don't have the fancy polished aluminum R tank, however :)

I had the peeling issue with my first DP carbon tank pad and I took it to the dealer and they replaced it with the second generation carbon pad. Ive had no issues for the last 5k miles with it so I'm happy now.

No idea which version I have..But once again its falling apart......:(

Maybe its a Steve thing...lol Pic would be interesting though...
