Ducati Superleggera race suit??

I guess this is a bad time to say I have a Superlegara race suit, Ducati Corse helmet, Ducati gloves, ducati boots, Ducati under suit, sitting in my Ducati chair, under a Ducati Corse umbrella, drinking out of my Ducati corse coffee cup, spinning my Ducati key ring, whilst looking at my Ducati Red painted trailer.

No just kidding, I don't actually have the umbrella.:)

:D

I reckon it depends. Do you ever talk to people? Do you like to get help from Coaches? Do you sit in your pit and bounce the bike off the rev limiter for no reason? Do you pull in the clutch and rev the .... out of it on your way to hot pit? :D

You can't always judge a book by its cover.

I went up to a fellow Ducati rider and asked him for advice about bike setup. All he did was brag about how hard it was to get into the expert classNd all the trick .... he had on his bike. He was a conceded dick! Not all of us are like this. I've made a great group of new like minded grip twisters at the track this season. Some times one bad apple spoils the whole bunch. The Ducati persona is a real thing, us friendly guys need to be good ambassadors and prove that we are not all tools.

Very good point. And I have never really understood the whole "Ducati persona" thing to be honest. I mean it is just a ....... bike. Harley riders are the same way.

I ride a Ducati, but I am not a "Ducati Rider". I only chose the 1299S over the R1 because my racing org has Twins classes, which makes the Ducs legal for more race classes than the I4's...and I like to race a lot.

The brand is irrelevant to me, I buy bikes for their capabilities.

I completely agree! I rode Kawasaki racing motocross because they had the best contingency program and I made $500 a weekend double classing. I got the Pani because of the power to weight ratio.

I was only joking. My trailer is grey. I do have the Ducati Corse Helmet though as you can see in my avatar pic. I have only been to the track a few times but usually find most people are pretty good to talk to.

I wish I had a SL and the suit to go with it.:)

That's got nothing to do with their leathers that's just Americans .;)
Were they Americans?

thats actually funny- Because every track day I've done between 2-3 organizations almost every single time we get Middle east/ European people from Chicago that come down and do not listen worth a ..... They don't come to the AM meeting and the guys who run the track days literally have to force them to come over- holding the rest of us up. They act like complete idiots the entire time and act like they're pros- whilst they may be better than myself or others there theres a lot better rides than themselves there as well. Pretty much act like they can do whatever the hell they want and they're .... don't stink

Me too.

But I would sell the suit. :D

hahahaha thanks for the feedback guys after a year of wearing my suit I came across this article again. I ended up getting the spidi suits since I've had 3 or 4 of them in the past and got it for $750. lol I'm glad I didn't get the factory looking dianese suit even though I usually am the fastest guy at track days. lol and an expert WERA racer, I wouldn't want to be the douche/poser. lol yeah I have a lot of guys think they know their .... when they see me pit at the track with all my stuff, they automatically assume "oh look at this rich snob with his set up and superleggera". they always approach me at the track in the mornings or in tech inspecition. lol After the first two sessions they quickly realize I'm not the last douche with a ducati they met at starbucks. lmao Never ever judge a book by its cover.

I think the whole bouncing the engine off the rev-limiter is a BMW thing. I've seen a lot of Ducs at track days and it's always the S1000rr guys that do that ...., trying to get flames to shoot out the way exhaust on the back fire.

It's hard when you show up with a European bike at track days, your almost always looked at for not being "economical" with your choice of track bike. It's always been my experience that the guys with the ragged out bike that's a few years old is the fastest. (That's not me)

I personally think you should wear and ride what you want, just always be cognizant of others and act accordingly.

I personally wear all black Alpinestars. I wear alpinestars, cause they held up better than other suits I've worn. I like they way they look too. Dainese always has this metrosexual look to them, but that's me.

Older thread back to life!

I have two suits: Taichi and Ducati Corse.

Taichi i have is a upper end leather with super high quality but I end up wearing Ducati corse because I prefer boot in instead of boot out with Taichi. I also like the bulky dainese knee protection.

I know Ducati (Dainese) suit is flashy but it was pretty much free so I careless if people think I'm a Ducati fanboy! Lol.

I I were to buy another, I'll buy Dainese air and probably darker color.

All this suit talk reminds me I need a new suit. It just hit me that my ZCustom leathers are now 10 years old
Off the rack never fits me quite right so I'm having to decide between getting measured for some new Dianeses or go back to having another set of Z's old school thick heavy leathers made again.

I don't worry about the new kids wearing fancy stuff. In fact I always tell them to get the best gear they can afford. It's about surviving.
The last douches that I've run across at a trackday were actually a couple of Hayabusa riders. It's not the bike and gear that make a douche, it's the person.

Busa's can turn corners?!? Learn sumthin new everyday....

I'm waiting for my new custom D-air suit to arrive in Dec. Not that I wanted to spend that much but unfortunately off the rack suits just didn't fit me. I felt that Im worth the additional safety of the D-air and it could pay for itself in the long run...not that I plan to crash. Also, it was a fun experience designing my own suit.
