Remember when Ducati was the sexy but sketchy brand? When its bikes were lustworthy but foolhardy? When you wanted to own one but feared owning it?

Remember when Ducati was on the verge of bankruptcy for what seemed like forever? Or when none of its owners would keep it?

Yet, today, Ducati is on top of its game and, in many ways, at the top of the pile.

Thank you, Ducati, for all that you've done, and for giving us so many reasons to be glad that we've always believed in you.

Context: Today is my first day off in a long time. Thus, alcohol.

I'd try to explain, but I'm about to email an ex and remind her how much I still admire her*.

* j/k ... it's too early for that. But still ... the way she used to look at me ....

Well, after replacing the valve cover gasket on the front cylinder after an extensive oil leak. Redoing the seal for the generator cover because of an oil leak. Replacing the gasket for the heat exchanger because of an oil leak, och now finally replacing the whole heat exchanger because of... Well.. you guessed it.. An oil leak... On a $40 grand bike... With a throttle that could have been made out of LEGO... I'm not so sure that Ducati are on the top of it's game just yet...

Hopefully we can also say the same thing with MV agusta, I also love that brand.

way back in 1998, every one is admiring the 748-998 but after a few months , people are experiencing some problems with their bikes. I still was not ridding then but some of the owners sold their bikes to get a Honda or a yami.

fasforward 12 years , the jap riders are now switching to Ducati. Problems still arises every now and then though

I lusted after Ducati since around 1969 reading MCN weekly newspapers reading ads from the the London importer. Taking camping trips to the South of France seeing all bikes heading south and on the coast. Later on reading the Paul Smart Imola 750ss that was it Ducati & MV were my then ultimate bikes
