Dyno, Finally

Just remember all dyno's read different. Gandalf's dyno might read low anything above 190 is a handful

A lot of power but I was expecting to see numbers over 200 whp.

Why ? A dyno is a tuning tool you can take it to another dyno and it may read 200 hp . Will still be the same bike

44 teeth got roughly the same result....

It is alot of power you look at older gen bikes 80s era putting out 85 ish whp. Nearly doubled the HP and kept reliability.

I didn't think my H2 was a lot more powerful than my V4S with the Akrapovic exhaust.

2 different monsters but the V4S is definitely a lot smoother and more forgiving

Your number is exactly a 15% loss from the crankt to the wheels if you believe Ducati's claim of 226 with the full Akrapovic system.

the average horse has 16 horsepower :)

I'm sure a percheron has 30 and twice the torques

point being ride the sucker its got more than enough power

That's great. Lots of power.
My 1299 with Termi and rapidbike did 185rwhp. So it's good to see a jump over that.

Take it back tomorrow and it may be +10 or -7. It's all relative to the day's ambient
conditions.
As long as it fuels nicely through the range, the rest of the numbers are talking points only.

Bikes typically see a 10% lower wheel-hp than crank-hp. So theoretically the bike should make 203whp (225-10%).

Ducati always overstates their crank-hp though, so it isn't too suprising.

Honestly though I wouldn't read too much into it. That's a lot of power, and the V4 delivers it with a very nice power curve. Custom tuning will also unlock more power as well.

I heard there was a software flash, I think a race flash or something like that to unlock all the extra horses. Any idea if that's true? If so, has that occurred already?

Yes it comes with the exhaust.

I was planning to take my bike to the Dyno sometime next week but I don't think it's worth it anymore.... the numbers are very consistent in the low 190's

Real test is a roll on test in different gears versus different bikes.
I ran my “low” powered R1 against 2 different Aprilia factories 2018 models.
The R1 positively outpaced them both by a good margin.
Point is, on paper they should leave me looking for parking.
My guess is the R1 has a better graph as a whole, even though peak is less .

I wouldn’t judge the v4 ducati just by max hp. There’s a lot more to it.

I wonder how the numbers are affected by 6th gear having a higher redline. Standard dyno procedure is typically 3-4th gear, whichever is closer to 1:1 ratio I believe, but 6th gear on the V4 provides another 1krpm to the redline. These dyno readings are saying mid 180's horsepower for a 13400 redline, when the 6th gear redline is closer to 14500. Maybe that's where the much higher readings (like from MCN and MotoRapido) are coming from.
