I purchased a 2012 1199 base with 1635 miles for $12,500 When it arrived the oil light was on and the rear tire had been smoked pretty bad. I took the bike into a local ducat performance shop and had all fluids changed, new tires, suspension set to my weight, fender eliminator and BAS tuning. I got the bike back and rode maybe 200 miles and one day I'm stranded with my bike not starting. Once again back to the shop for the second time within having the bike 3 weeks and less than 250 seat time. Now I'm back on the road after new starter and battery and also had the charcoal canister removed. Finally I'm getting really comfy on this thing and really whip it into the turns and enjoying the power wheelies and I notice bolts missing that attached bottom of the rear set. Install new bolts and next ride the bolt comes out of the top rear set location. Man, are all these bolts coming out? It seems I've had more issues with this bike than any Japan bike I ever opened. Is this a common thing? I really love this bike but it's so far a money pit.

Check your kickstand bolt and bracket, steering damper bolt, bar end torx bolt while you're at it. Loctite blue is your friend and common for bolts to become loose on the 2012's.

This happened on my buddy's TC.

Put torque marks on your bolts to give you a quick indication if they are coming loose.

A mark/line over the bolt heads will do.

Performing wheelies as in your avatar can result in a gender eliminator...

It was a typo I'm sure you know and if you have ever got in gas wheelies aren't really an option.

I also don't advise riding in shorts often. These bikes throw off a lot of heat.

And it gets really hot here in NC.

Super hot!! I learned that lesson the first week when I was burned several times. Yes this bike definitely throws out the heat [emoji16][emoji16]I was just making a test run down the street trying to determine some adjustments when this video was taken.

Yes, I know but the typo and the avatar... the stars aligned and I couldn't pass it up! How often does that happen???

Congrats on the new bike!

Congrats on the new bike, and sorry to hear all the problems.

I also had a few issues, and mine was brand new.

But it's well worth it !

Yes they are minor problems and well worth it. Most of the cost was just getting the bike up to date with all the services. It's my first Ducati as well as v twin and I'm loving it. I live in a fairly small city and I haven't sent another pani yet so its definitely the attention getter.
