I currently have a 10x8 open utility trailer but considering an enclosed just for my pani. Anyone have any advise or experiance on setup on enclosed trailers? There's a factory in Georgia I can pick up a new one for pretty cheap....

If you can get a great price on a enclosed I would push toward that. When you have a enclosed trailer not only can you lock it up more securely, but also nobody knows what's inside. You can even put a few other things in there and don't have to worry about it because it closed and locked up. (No worries about rain of theft, you are paying a little more for ALOT of peace of mind.) hope this is convincing. :)

I use Etrack on all my trailers with snap in tie down points and chocks. The Pitbull rear wheel restraint is the nicest way to hold a bike in any trailer, but it is pretty much bike specific.

Enclosed trailers are really nice, but they have a really negative impact on fuel mileage. I generally use my open deck trailer because of this.

I would have tom say that the gas mileage will vary with the shape of the unit. I have a V nose front on mine and I find barely perceptible behind my tow vehicle not a deterrent to taking it.

For security...go with an enclosed trailer.... take advantage of the good price as well.

Also, if it rains...your stuff will be protected from the elements. Go Enclosed!

Enclosed hands down if you have the space and an easy way to store / access it. For some of us, space is a concern so a stand-up folding is really the only option we have.

Also, it depends on how much you use it. A stand up one folds away nicely. Where as if you only it the track twice a year, that giant enclosed thing taking up space will get to you.

Good luck!

I think open is best. When youi stop fopr coffee, How would people at Starbucks know you had a Ducati? It's not like they all have x-ray vision (or do they???).

Enclosed 100 times over.

I like being able to protect the bike from the elements. Also it's an expensive bike.

I've got an alarm on mine.

WTF? For a measly few grand you can get custom lettering on that enclosed trailer to replicate a serious racing operation. A "Starbucks" sticker kit goes for 150$ and folks will think they sponsor your team.;)

Wow, the Starbucks crowd would be buying you lattes left and right. I'm on it! I just couldn't open the trailer, if they saw my matte CF, they 'd know I was a fake.

matte is the dead give away of the ultimate posuer...that is why my bike has zero gloss finish

(how do i get the dust and dirt off of my tires after pushing the bike down the trailer ramp into the Starbucks parking lot?

Just carry those Armor All wipes in the pocket of your leathers..

Exactly - don't need to drive around with your garage behind you to get the job done! "never stop improving" :D (atually, I would just stay at home if this was my only method)
