Anyone have thoughts on the Cox vs. Evotech radiator guards? Cox are great but install requires removal of radiator, etc. Evotech looks nice also and easier.

Appreciate it.

i have evo tech. does the same thing as cox 10 min install. funny thing the evotech is rebranded on the ducati website. want to waste your time get cox or rg. many threads on this

Since being a good friend of Andrew Cox I have to go with the nice gold setup I got from him. Granted its twice as involved when comes time for installation but also gives you a perfect time to add another form of coolant and learn how to take apart your bike a bit more.

Never seen Evo Tech but hear its a breeze to mount. Would have to see the level of protection and if its the same all around. I'm a Cox guy all around (def not like it sounds you deviant crew! ) lmfao. If you contact Andrew Cox personally be sure to tell him I sent you and ask if that carries some discount weight with it which I've been told by others it did.

Best of luck!

Got Cox myself. Ok deal if you know how to swing the wrenches. To pay for tech time to have it installed makes no sense. Once installed it is "da s&?!t" though.

Comes down to the same: More money=less trouble vs less money=more trouble.

Me I have enough trouble, so next time I'll go about it differently.

Sorry, Master Cox

damn, fell victim to the didn't search before posting, but seems to be a to each their own type choice.

It boils down to the basic question of which guards you like better. Then you have to weigh ripping the entire bike apart to install the Cox guards vs. removing 4 bolts and installing the Evotech guards. For me it was a win-win since I liked the look of the Evotech better anyhow.

exactly the same protection gunny. cox is a waste of time. i know you are loyal cause you know the guy but ducati is offering evotech now on its own website. you have seen evotech cause its on my bike. its so good you dont even notice.

Other than most likely obtaining them all free, or pennies on the dollar - I wonder why just about every AMA Superbike is sporting the Cox Racing Group Radiator Guards?

Not trying to start ...., I am actually very curious and will pose this question to Andrew. Perhaps it was a bid type thing or his turn in the circuit. Let yoos all know.

Probably the same reason why teams use shell vs Motul vs mobil etc etc.. Sponsorship. ;)

If we're being honest here.. For the average Joe Bloe.... it's really difficult to recommend anything other than the Evotech Rad Guards.
Install is literally 10 mins and that's with a beer in one hand.
Protection is second to none. I commute daily with my Pani and roads in Sydney are the complete opposite to a track. My rads still look like new after 12 months.
As for looks? they look pretty good to me.. but I only see them when I'm washing my bike. I've never noticed anyone sticking their head under the front wheel and say.. WOW! awesome rad guard. :S

Couldn't agree more.

The cox is a perfectly fine product, it's just not "better" and takes a lot more time to install.

The cost is equal if you google long enough, the protection is equal (I think someone in one of the other threads humorously compared the cox to a wire chicken fence material and implied the evotechs are more durable, but I won't go that far), but the evotech's installation is many times simplier. I don't really know a single reason why the cox would win... other than wanting to give your money to cox rather than evotech, or if you're the type that enjoys a more time consuming installation.

^^exactly what he just said^^

+1 - if you are tearing the bike down for some other reason then I could see it being more of a decision process, but for anybody just looking to add a radiator guard the Evotech is definitely the better choice. From an engineering standpoint it just makes so much sense. IMHO, it's rather elegant how Evotech just looked at the bike and figured out how easy it was to use the stock mounting hardware and attachment points to make the perfect cover. It really installs and looks like the Panigale was designed to mate to it - esp the lower.

yes sponsorship would be the answer. also the sponsored riders have a whole team working with them. the rider doesnt have to spend a entire weekend installing these things. the mechanic of the team does it so why would the rider care what rad guard he has. all he cares about is if the bike works and if he is getting sponsorship dollars. (Hell do you think that HJC helmets are better than NOLAN helmets. probably not but JLO wore nolan now hjc why DOLLARS). the bike will work with any rad guard and you are just trying to block small debris from the track from damaging your radiator. you are not trying to stop a scud missile so any brand will work. as for me the evotech was a no brainer. i wasnt going to rip apart a brand new bike to install cox and i wasnt going to pay 125 an hour 4 hours at the stealership. 15 min install (stopped for a drink of coffee between top and bottom install) as i did it in the morning. i think my kurig took longer to brew my cup than the evotech install.

if you want to say you like working on your bike it relaxes you that is fine. if you like the brand better that is fine too but PLEASE DONT TELL ME YOURS IS BETTER THAN MINE CAUSE YOU TOOK A WHOLE WEEKEND TO INSTALL. That means nothing. COX EVOTECH or R&G will all stop the same rock the same way. Dont tell me yours looks better they look the same. (except for the red it doesnt match.)

Pretty glad I "bothered" to install the Cox radiator guards. This is the upper almost at the top after the first ride with them. Looks like someone tried to stick their finger thru it, these were some big rocks
