Exhaust flapper valve issue

Talking to the new tech at the local dealer, he says leaving the flapper open all the time will compromise midrange torque?
Suggesting that the engine requires the added back pressure at certain Rpm to get the torque (grunt) out

I'm not sure the guys locally really know because not too many Pani owners here are inclined to tinker with the bikes.

Any comments to his comments?

What a load of garbage. The only reason it is on the bike is to conform to ride by sound tests.

In 2014 my bike was on the dyno and the torque curve with my standard OEM exhaust was normal. My flapper valve got disconnected a few weeks after I got the bike in 2012. We all did it here on the forum. 1 minute fix with needle nose pliers to stop the annoying change in sound around the 55 to 60 kph mark.

I think he was just telling you that so you would not disconnect the valve.

All IMHO.
