Exhaust Heat Guards

Where did you get your system ceramic coated ? Did you have to uninstall the 7 parts to the system yourself and take them to the coaters ?

Not sure if you are talking to me?

If so I am only getting the covers coated, I don't see the point in doing the entire system myself. I've read it doesn't help with heat and I don't mind the colour.

There is a local place called Coating King who do it.

If you're not talking to me, forget all that ....!

hahaha no was talking to you mate, was poorly worded and directed.
Yeah I read that about the heat and now I have the proper heat shield on it, its better - not great but better.
I quite like the TITANIUM logo and the fact that it is titanium if anything I'd want to coat the heat guards and the tips of the exhaust themselves....thoughts ?

Brad - yes mate - rip off Australia strikes again $320 for F all. This country is getting worse by the day mate.

That was what I was thinking too mate. I like the titanium look, not so fussed in the plain aluminium though. I might look at doing the other end, not sure yet.

I don't really have an issue with the heat of the pipes but rather the sub frame. Every time I ride the bike I get off with a heat rash on both inner thighs like you wouldn't believe.

I have bought some carbon frame covers so I'll put those on and hope it helps.

So far my sticker solution has been working. Bike hasn't spontaneously combusted as I was so certainly told it would. Less than a few $ and its such a better look than stock.

That is a nice look and amazing that it stands the heat.

Must be cooler down there than we think, so maybe I'll give Cadbury's a try :p

.......carbon frame covers you say huh

Thanks Bern you've given me another alternative to think of, sure would look better than simply painted.

What product did you use Bern?

I see two choices:

Dupli Paint do a CF spray kit (like Plasti dip). Totally reversible but the obvious concerns remain - Sold at Supercheap.
Second option is 3M matte CF wrap, lots of patience and skill with a craft blade.

Its just a faux CF look vinyl that I picked up from Amazon (3M maybe?). At the time it was .99c (plus shipping) for a 12" x 60" roll. Easily replaceable if needed. I used a heat gun to mold it properly but I think a hair dryer on high would also work.

Groovy, thanks mate.
