Hey Australian Ducati riders. I collect my first Ducati next week a 1299S and have been looking at insurance which is looking like it will cost me just over $1100 for full comprehensive cover BUT what I am also looking at is extended warranty cover too due to the piece of mine 3 extra years gives to ones riding pleasure. Swann for 3 years is $1000 and must be purchased before delivery of the bike so can any members tell me of other options that they possible have ??? Thanks riders look forward to meeting some of you soon

The Ducati dealer in Brisbane offers one, I looked into it shortly after my purchase, it was about $1200-00 for three years but they would only cover up to $6000-00 in repairs and that was cumulative, if you used $2000-00 of it on a claim then you only had $4000-00 left if you had any other issues, I decided not to bother with it but these are all offered through third party providers, I don't believe that Ducati offer an extended warranty.

Cheers

Yes no official Ducati extended Warranty

Yes JT you are correct that Ducati Australia do no officially have or offer a extended warranty. I have been told that this is something they are looking into with the underwriting coming from Europe but it's apparently going to be very expensive. There are pros and cons to the swann insurance extended warranty and one con is the maximum you can claim for any one claim is $5000. Now considering the S models have all the electronic suspension I would think if it had a catastrophic failure then to replace the whole system would be well over $5000 but hey if that was to happen at least you are covered for that $5000. I know I would rather prefer to have the security and piece of mind of the cover

Also the Swann option is not accumulative. Max $5000 per claim and only up to the value of the purchase price which is fair enough
