This is a great short street circuit in the South Island's West Coast of New Zealand where the weather can be stinking hot one minute then torrential down pour the next (usually rains heavily at the end of the day when the fastest 10 of the day is run). I raced this street circuit several times on a 1990 GSXR750L and managed a 3rd in the fastest 10 of the day (behind two 916 Ducati's and just in front of a Manx Norton 500 ridden by Hugh Anderson ex World 125 Champ) on slicks in light drizzle. Just glad this never happened to me, enjoy the footage.

ouch.

I like the "Come race with us" message at the end of the video. Who's in charge of marketing?

I feel for the guy on the yamaha, no avoiding that one....I've been there.

Awesome footage Carl, I was just around the corner when this happened and only saw the huge cloud of smoke as it rose above the buildings - glad to hear that no one was seriously hurt.

Wow. Impact must have hurt. Even the riders vision gets blurry after the impact. :). (I've been playing to many FPV games).

This was not me riding, I would have MX styled it up and over with a heel clicker and kept riding LOL, I saw it on Facebook from a dude I know, but yes it is great footage, nearly as good as MotoGP or WSBK, but not as clear LOL. Feel for the guys having to rebuild, but then again that's racing, bikes can be rebuilt, people can't.
